Just shows how bad we have been in the attacking sense...
2005/06 Gary Mcsheffery 15
2006/07 Dele Adebola 8
2007/08 Michael Mifsud 10
2008/09 Clinton Morrison 10
2009/10 Clinton Morrison 11
2010/11 Marlon King 12

Just shows how bad we have been when our leading goalscorer each year has been roughly 10.
Juke already on 6 looks superb when you look at this(touch wood).

Anybody know what our average goals scored are over the last few seasons? I bet they make depressing reading. If anyone can find the time to research it, you may aswell do the goals against average while your at it

The 98-99 season we were magic. Looking back on it, our inability to hang on to the likes of Dublin, Huckerby, Keane, Whelan and even Moldovan very quickly spelt the end of Premiership football. How far we have fallen - all of those players were capable of 20+ a season in today's Championship.

They could probably still get 20+ today

I know we've got the "best" record for no top 6 finishes since records began (well almost....) , but looking at those stats I wonder how many clubs can match that kind of consistency in producing a negative goal difference year after year.

Yea but Mifsud scored 19 goals in all competitions in about half a season, once Coleman came in he ruined Mifsud.
Also Best had about 9/10 by January one season, then he left for Newcastle.
King scored 12 in 25 games last season.
We have had some decent strikers, just we can't hold onto them.

Jutkiewicz had 10 before we sold him to Middlesbrough

To complete the misery I have looked at the seasons 90/91 up to and including 05/06 (plus those above) which reveals in the last 20 completed seasons we have only been in credit goals scored v goals conceded THREE times !!!. (97/98 - 01/02 and 03/04)

90/91: 42-49
91/92: 35-44
92/93: 52-57
93/94: 43-45
94/95: 44-61
95/96: 42-60
96/97: 38-54
97/98: 46-44
99/00: 47-54
00/01: 36-63
01/02: 59-53
02/03: 46-62
03/04: 67-54
04/05: 61-73
05/06: 62-65

This surely is the root of the problem can't score enough goals to win and when we do score a few we let a s..t load in.

Pretty depressing eh ???
