Taking responsibility for the second goal. Better tell some of those on here blaming Sheaf and Collins.

In fairness it's one of his plus points - he actually does take responsibility generally. In my opinion he is the most limited in many ways of our centre backs but at least is committed and aggressive. He shows a degree of leadership. He is the one I dislike the least.

He had another solid game tonight , shame Thomas and Sheaf haven't put their hands up too as they are " leaders in the group"

I thought Lati was poor tonight if I'm being honest. He is not comfortable on his left hand side, and was too slow with his passing, and 90%+ of the passes he did make were cutting back inside to Thomas. We really need a left foot at LCB. He did ping one decent ball though.

If only we had a player like that . One who looked very comfortable last season when we were flying , a player who likes a progressive pass and someone who definitely would've took a yellow tonight by kicking the striker up in the air ....

I would rotate him with MVE at right back as he’s clearly struggling at the moment (MVE). One of very few who at least owns his shortcomings in this team.

What does it tell you? He isn't even captain yet puts his hands up.

Sheaf could run over a family of four and he would still blame the road/car/wind speed. Some of you would believe him as well.

Get out his arse. Sheaf is a Massive burden, just like your favourite O'Hare.

Yeah, I don't get it. Why didn't Collins force him out wide, or get a tackle, or meaningful challenge in?

If he had done that, then he wouldn't have had to rush back to his line to then try and save the shot.

Hindsight when Grant went past him he should have just blocked him off, taken the yellow and free kick edge of the area.

Well it was a collective thing, not one individual error, but with Lati being the main culprit.

But he's hardly going to come out and say 'yeah I take the blame for that goal but to be honest Sheaf and Collins should have done better too'

He’s a pretty decent passer of the ball, and he does try to bring some leadership to the back line.
Problem is he takes too long to get the ball under control as as such it means the play slows down and becomes ponderous.

He's not the only one who struggles to control the ball...30 yard pass Simms, Asante, EMC even Wright does at times thats all attacking players what chance do we get with moving the ball quick when they can't even control the fucking thing?

Lati always speaks well and talks a good game but just isn't good enough.
As to the likes of Sheaf he absolutely doesn't shield our central defenders enough. Too slow and doesn't get his foot in enough.

Don't care if he owned it tbh

That second goal was a total embarrassment. You'd be pissed off to concede it at non league level let alone championship

Hes literally just walked through Sheaf and our centre halves with minimal effort

Fuck them

Sheaf has lost a lot. I don’t know if it’s the injuries but he’s never a premier league player at the moment

I was thinking it would be better leadership to accept your own responsibility but also state "I think we all could have done better to stop that goal"

Actually having rewatched it again lati was the biggest culprit for that second goal he was so flat footed , left on the spot .

Looking back at the goal I'm not sure why lati steps in towards thomas rather than hold his position ? Once thomas has been beat lati has already moved toward him and it's basically a free route through to shoot

That being said he generally hasn't been terrible last 2 games, but mistakes like that decide games

Sounds like Lati has taken the blame but it’s not a good look having 3 defenders glided past. These sorts of errors keep happening!

Another thing about the goal that hasn't been discussed was the ball in to Grant.
Guy was in acres of space and when he received the ball Saka, who was tucked in quite centrally sprinted to him but it was too late and he got the pass away.
Was Saka out of position or was that tactical?

Totally agree with this. Sheaf should also take a portion of the blame but Lati's just let him waltz past for a free shot.

He's miles too slow to play in a back 4 and he got rinsed a few times in the 1st half way too easy.

Distribution wise we could do with a left footer in there also

Lati got caught off balance, I don't think he could have made the block even if he tried.

Collins is well positioned to save it. Not throwing the book at him because the defending is worse.

Grant's goal was in a way quite similar to Sheffield United's second a few weeks ago. Mainly in terms of how it was conceded.

When an opposition forward is running at him Lati shits himself. Far too slow and his reaction speed is non-existent.

His positioning for that goal is also comical. Looks like he's about to sneak into Thomas' pocket.

I agree with all that but I’d still have Kitching in for a run of games alongside Thomas. He’ll take a bit to get up to speed but got to be worth a go. If we want to play out from the back we can’t have a right footed CB played LCB, let alone one who’s not overly comfortable on the ball anyway.

He's a utility man. A fantastic ad to have on the bench as he can cover CB,RB and in the middle. What he isn't though is a starter in any position ahead of Binks, Van Ewick, Sheaf or Eccles. I guess I'd rotate him in if someone is in a patch of bad form like Van Ewick, but other than that just keep him on the bench for when we lack a quality sub.
