To be fair I was questioning his criteria for judging the "reversal of the course of the club ( his words) . Absolutely nothing else.Dont just jump to conclusions

Ah so we can use one 3 place lower league finish as an explanation for reversing the course of a club .
Good to know that at least in depth long term parameters are being used to formulate this judgement

In terms of league position we’ve got worse every season.

As has been pointed out, that is with a sample size of one.

And also a season where everyone expected our league position to drop due to the player churn in the summer. Going on comments at the start of the season, the finishing place was as most predicted.

Also, it seems pretty obvious that the drop in quality this season has been due to the radical changes to the coaching staff that took place in the close season, and the poor form / injury of our best players. I don't think it's necessarily on King, anyway.

in my opinion Mark Robins was brilliant for City …. But it should be seen in context. Promotion via the play offs was the minimum expected of a club of our scale and resources in LG2, yes we were a shadow of our former selves but still big by league comparison. He did a great job in lg1 and i do believe we would have got promoted had the season not been cut short, but none of us will ever know.

His record in the championship is mixed in my view.

First couple of years we scraped by and that was a good result given relative resources. We then had the leagues best forward in Vik and 2 of the leagues best midfielders in Hamer and COH and we surpassed expectations to get into the play offs final. Last year our league form was pretty average, this year it was poor. Which ever way you try to position that, it’s a pretty mixed few seasons. It’s not the unstinting progress that some would have you believe.

Then you have all the off field stuff.

King had to make a decision as to whether he thought Robins was the right man to get us promoted. Time will tell But his achievements in Lg2 and Lg1 shouldn’t really be relevant to that decision.

I personally would have given Robins longer, but not much longer maybe 4-6 weeks.

We stayed up comfortably in the second year of the Championship and got 64 points, 27 points more than the 3rd bottom team, stop trying to re-write history. Even the first season we finished 12 points off the relegation places, so the comment "we scraped by" is bollocks really isn't it.

No that’s first season we looked likely to go down all season. We finished really strongly and our end position flattered us.

No it didn't. Your league position doesn't flatter you, of all the nonsense youve spouted that's probably the stupidest.

Absolute clown.

If you are in the bottom 3 all season and win the last 4 matches to pull clear have you had a season fighting relegation, yes of course you have. Your final points total is not the only consideration when reflecting on how your season has gone.

The last 4 games could all be against weaker opposition meaning the position before that was actually false. The final position is the only thing that be judged on.

You are an absolute clown. I don't believe we spent much, if any, time in the bottom 3 all season. I've checked the data for 11, 23, 34 games played and in each of them we're outside the bottom 3.

At the half way stage of the season we were 17th and 7 points off the relegation spots.

If you like Deity, let's go with your argument about the last 4 games. After 42 games we were 17th and 8 points clear of the bottom 3.

We picked up 25 points in our last 17 games. That's 1.47 PPG.
Over a season that puts you on 67 points. Clown.

Edit 24 points, puts us on 64 for the season.

It's not just a DK debate, it's whether Robins was the right manager as well.

Every thread turns into chaos at the moment on here, it's boring as hell.

You've got clowns like Diety who can't help but try and put down what Robins achieved.
I'd have more respect if they just came out and said it.
But while they keep doing it I'll keep calling them out.

That doesn't mean I want Lampard gone, I'm fully behind him and will give him time, but just because we're in a new era no need to keep digging at the last one.

Bollocks.

We didn't look "likely" to go down at all; we were one of the teams that were in the scrap, as any reasonable person would have expected a club with our resources to be.

You can't try to put a negative spin on a strong finish. Good form is good form whenever you get it in a season. Our final position reflected our entire season, and thus wasn't flattering. League tables very rarely lie.

Do you not find it weird they would post him voluntarily though? Or would the admin not be aware of any ongoing negotiations anyway?

Does seem odd for the club to say he’s ill and can’t attend an event but then voluntarily show he isn’t ill!

Your missing the point, possibly deliberately i can’t tell.

Look at the Premier League table now. Take West Ham or Palace. They are having an awful season buy anyone’s measure but if the second half of the season mirrors the first they will be well clear of relegation. It wont change that their season has been awful.

I understand CVD.

We all have our opinions on Mark Robins, but we've all been there at the lowest of the lows and without Robins and Adi, we don't get back to Championship and come within a kick of the Premier League. A lot of players contributed to that success too, but most of the plaudits have to go to Mark and Adi. I would like to think that all fans are forever thankful for their efforts.

Anyway, sorry to quote my own post, but genuinely interested to hear people's opinions on it.

Dovin now No.1, EMC looks a player, Kitching back in the fold, (early days) and profit turned on Palmer and lati.

We certainly haven't wasted 42 mil.

At very worst it looks like we could break even on the current bunch. I’m more concerned about where we go in the summer if, MVE, Sheaf, Wright leave.
