Torp isn't fast but somehow it isn't as glaringly obvious, that's my point. I don't know if Lati is actually slow or it's his weird running action that makes it look worse.

Lati has been a decent utility player, reads the game ok and is vocal but I just can't remember a player with a weirder running style. I don't know if he's genuinely slow or his odd style makes it look worse than it is.

I like this! I've remarked on it before. He just looks so slow when racing back to deal with counters. However I actually think he has decent pace, despite what it looks like!

My bug bear with him is when he goes half way round the world on international duty for some tin pot cup and comes back injured and / or jetlagged. His club should come first

Lati to Burnley?

They have 6 centre backs, and have just bought a 2nd right-back

Doesn’t make any sense.

Think we underestimate him though, and sort of player who’d slot into a good side very easily

One of the better on the ball centre backs in the Championship.

How do Burnley get away with so many in their squad and we supposedly can't?

I can’t be the only one who thinks he’s pretty bad on the ball. Makes me shit myself everytime he gets it to feet

More likely to be Sheff Utd isn’t it. Honestly, if we’re actually making a case for him being a good centre half it only proves what scraps we’ve been feeding off as fans in terms of defensive ability.

I'd say more likely to be Stoke City, Robins rated Lat highly.

Unlike some of our international players, he rarely comes back injured and usually plays our next game. Can't remember one occasion he came back injured, or not fit to play but happy to be corrected.
International players tend to be your better players.
Nip to Orange Street in Kingston and shout Jamaica, tin pot football team.

Better on the ball ? When he's got it at his feet he treats it like a hot potato.

Lati is godawful on the ball. Seriously doubting your analysis now.

We can. It’s just a weird thing made up to defend King for some reason.

Worse. Neither can pass but at least Thomas passes it badly in a more stylish way

He's better on the ball than Lati.

He tries riskier passes and makes the occasional unforced error but he's still better

Lati gifted goals to Wolves and Man Utd in cup games last season. Far too error prone and far too slow for me even if young and committed. Should only be allowed to go if we get a replacement in however (if this is true)

V aggressive, strong, wasn't gonna get beaten to the ball and just really determined.
Pretty much how you'd like all players, every game especially CBacks.

There have been times when he is one of the few players that care. Certainly has deficiencies but would not be top of my list of players to move on. However, he might be one of the few that other teams are prepared to pay for. Will miss his versatility but always thought he was a great sub as covered a couple of positions rather than a starter

Depends what you mean by "on the ball"

Thomas is far more comfortable with the ball at his feet. Lati hates getting pressured.

Distribution wise Lati loses the ball less, but generally plays much safer passes. Thomas leads him in pretty much all the ball progression stats. Lati is probably a better long passer though, yes.

In a small squad with minimal cover I think it would be foolish to let him go. He is the one player who has consistently shown a fight mentality on the pitch. We don't have many of these in the squad as it is.

If we have a small squad, why are people saying we’ve got our full quota of players so can’t sign new ones, and is that actually true?

Maybe more accurate to say unbalanced squad. If we play 3 at the back, we have no senior cover; we'll have no right back cover (unless it is to be Burroughs who couldn't get in Kilmarnock team since his accident); and we have no DM cover with Sheaf injured. We do have 4 goalies though!

I thought he was fine last season. This time out his passing has really let us down.
Our centre backs used to drive forward with the ball and that has stopped in the main this season. Confidence issue , I feel.
In a back four, the opposition let Thomas be the one who has to pass forwards. He has looked much better in a back three.

Please explain how it works to this old git, as so many are saying we have to sell one before we bring one in.

We currently have 24 registered.

For some reason we have registered Bassette as a full squad player when he could be registered as an u21 and therefore not count to the 25 squad capacity

we currently have 4 keepers registered. Could deregister 2 and free up two spots

What is more likely, you have not understood the registration rules or someone has registered our players incorrectly?

We currently have 1 space left

unlikely the cluib have registered someone incorrectly

And no we can't unregister 2 keepers, we need at least 3 as has been shown this season

If we can get a return on him then there is a conversation to be had, he's got his uses though and if Burnley are after a squad player who is happy to be back up and slot in anywhere then they can do worse I guess

No hard feelings if he does leave

Might sound silly but you could deregister Collins and Bell and then just use the U21 keeper on the bench if it comes to it?

Especially if the club are trying to move Collins on.

but what happens if they need to play one, it's how Collins ended up back in the team
