I’m a member of southam supporters club and Joel and Torp are guests tomorrow night but he’s been replaced by Fabio today so could be either ill or in talks with somebody else possibly?

But why would second in the table Burnley buy a player who is <cursory check of SBT> "technically rubbish", "not good enough", "awful", etc etc?

I'll be seriously shocked if Burnley sign him, considering they're trying to off load Centre backs due to having to many.

I've no idea who he is either, I'm just using that as an example as most members on here have SkyBlue or 87 in their username. I don't think he's been "awful". He's a good example of a jack of all trades, but master of none. When he's on his game, he has been good for us and had some decent games.

You could say the same about so many players , loads of shite have played at top clubs in various leagues ..but really he's an extraordinarily average footballer

Fair play his agent is very good

He's certainly better than having to play someone out of position if we have injuries or suspensions. I'm not necessarily against him going, but only if we see another CB coming in. Quite vocal and one of the few leaders too.

Haha - fair enough.

Will have to agree to disagree on this one, for me he's physically slow and awkward and is about the same standard as Thomas on the ball (Which isn't good enough for this level)

He's a lot better in a 3 to be fair as it hides a few more of his weaknesses but if we can make a profit on him we should snap Burnleys hand off!

They obviously see something in him and he may do better with better CM's in front of him?

Let's see!

If he was that good we wouldn't sell him for the rumoured fee of around £2 million. I don't think we'd sell our other CBs for that and they aren't exactly all that either. He's going from being a utility player here to being i assume a higher paid and lesser used utility player at Burnley. All i'll say is thanks for the funds, i won't miss seeing him line up for us. Hopefully we spend them wisely.

Not if we're playing wing backs now. He was good against Sheff Weds, and he was signed to play LWB. He should never play LB in a 4 though.

Lati has been a decent utility player, reads the game ok and is vocal but I just can't remember a player with a weirder running style. I don't know if he's genuinely slow or his odd style makes it look worse than it is.

Yeah agree. Not amazing, but can't ever fault his effort and he's had some decent performances for us, covering a number of positions.
Seems a nice guy as well, hope he does well elsewhere if he does leave

Thought his best performance came up at the Stadium of light in November. Played well that day

He did actually. We needed someone to step in and be aggressive at that point in the game and he did that.

Probably one of the few people on here who rates Lati. He is still young and I gather is a very strong character.
I get it, he is not a very progressive player and not so attacking as MVE at right back. However, I think he will get better as he gets older and plays more international football. He is not adverse to putting the boot in which is a quality this team lacks, The ability to play different positions is going to be useful wherever he ends up.
