Can be viewed on the official site http://www.ccfc.co.uk/page/Gallery/0,,10269~2342680,00.html

The seven-foot high bronze statue of the former Sky Blues manager and chairman is still only in its preliminary stages but I'm sure you will agree it looks fantastic so far even in clay!

The statue needs to go through a series of processes before sculptor Nicholas considers it the finished article but with your thirst for knowledge we thought we'd bring you some of the latest images after club president Joe Elliott paid a visit to Nicholas' Exeter studio!

That head needs some work but it appears we are putting in more time that the MJ one at Fulham. I saw the other day that this will be the 50th statue outside a football ground. I didn't realise there were so many.

The chin is almost there haha. It's going to look so impressive, much better than MJ at Fulham!

Probably still more mobile than some of the central midfielders we have had in recent years

Make the chin life size and put him in goal.

I think every club in all leagues has a "hero" or memorable name. I think it's agreat idea that the clubs recognise its local hero, whoever it may be (but Michael bleedin' Jackson!!!??? - C'mon!!!! Ya gotta be kiddin'!)

Way overdue for a man of his stature in the game (i mean not just for our club but everything he's done for the modern game from coaching to 3 points for a win, pre match entertainment etc).
Just wish i could have been there, alas working in Scunthorpe =(

Also anyone who watched the tribute on the ccfc site... Notice around the 0:50 mark the number plate? Reads GMK 7770... Maybe he knew what would happen down the road? :thinking about::thinking about::thinking about:

This is a wonderful tribute. Just a sense of macabre though...he's not dead yet!

I think that was the point, to honour him before he leaves us.

Hopefully it will be many years away though.

I think like many new grounds there has been a distinct lack of heritage and history at the Ricoh. This aside from being a great tribute to the man I think it adds to the stadium in terms of club heritage
