I knew we were kings of this stat this season but wanted to check by how much.
Here’s the season to date:

Coventry 9 goals 15 points (3 for win)
P’Boro 6/3
Forest 5/5
Luton 5/5
Middlesboro 4/9
Cardiff 4/4
Fulham 4/0
Huddersfield 3/6
QPR 3/5
Bristol City 3/4
Derby 3/3
Swansea 3/1
Sheffield U. 3/1
Stoke 3/0
Bournemouth 2/3
Blackpool 2/1
Preston 2/1
Hull 2/0
West Brom 1/4
Millwall 1/3
Barnsley 0/0
Birmingham 0/0
Blackburn 0/0
Reading 0/0

I believe our total is due to a combination of the following.
a) Fitness
b) Perseverance
c) Desperation
d) Luck
e) Fan support
What’s everyone’s thoughts?

There has been 9 goals after 90, Pete... So Gyokeres against Bristol misses the cut. But it's 11 pts won = 4 draws into wins. 3 defeats into draws. 2 with game 'won'.

Don't forget a missed pen by Gyokeres too!

Great stats.

Cheers for pointing out 3 points for a win as well ;-)

Cheers, broken down like that makes you realise just how vital we've taken to playing to the final whistle. Incredible doggedness from the team (and a combination of all those options).
Wonder if Fabio coming on is in category (c) or (a) for O'Hare.

I think it's down to the fact that we play like a bunch of bellends in the first half and always concede the first goal, then think oh shit we better look like we actually give a fuck in the last 10 minutes.

It's incredibly exciting, but it's not really a great/sustainable way to win football matches over the course of a season.

And another thing - this used to be a real issue for us. Not the scoring late goals but conceding them. I always joke with my step dad that even if we're 2 up on 88 minutes, not to get too excited.

Swindon away under Mowbray still haunts me.

Good to see we've not only nipped that in the bud but are the ones scoring those goals. Kudos to the clubs fitness/physio departments for working on the teams fitness levels to ensure we can still go for 100 minutes as opposed to be blowing after 75 mins.

If I hadn’t done that I’m sure a few would point out that we only gain 2 extra points

I kinda get your point but I’m not sure it makes any sense.
We can only score goals while the game is going on…as long as we consistently do that, and not before or after the game (or at halftime), then this is what matters. When this happens is immaterial - albeit this season has made for exciting stuff!
If we scored all our goals in the 65th minute, would this also be a problem/unsustainable?

I think it's an indication that we rarely control games from start to finish, and that we often only make a breakthrough after we move to Plan B. Long may the late goals continue, but we'll be a much better side if we can fix how we play in the rest of the game.

Well, I dunno about that…I think we’ve controlled games a lot this season, but yes should’ve scored more goals earlier in matches.
Is that not just saying “I’d like us to score more goals” though?

Certainly earlier in the season we were grinding teams down with our possession and some of the goals were down to opponents tiring.
Also, i think the home crowd helped in the first few games dragging the team along, they hadnt really had that from us before in those numbers and you could feel it in the stands and im sure they felt it on the pitch too.

For the avoidance of doubt, yes, I would like us to score more goals!
