I might be wrong, but I think last season it was George Thomas with 9 with 2 assists in all competitions wasn't it?

Going by this:

George Thomas - Detailed line data

So far we have Nazon on 8 goals with 3 assists:

Duckens Nazon - Player Profile 17/18

McNulty on 7 with 2 assists:

Marc McNulty - Detailed line data

We might even get to see double figures this season!!

I'm probably reading it completely wrong so please do forgive me if that is the case, but I get read it as at this time last year (according to those figures from Transfermarkt) George Thomas was not getting in the League match day squad until December 10th...was he injured?

I remember Thomas briefly being a starter at the beginning of last season but it felt at the time like expectation got the better of him, once he was out of the team I thought that was the last we'd see of him.

I'll hold my hands up and say McNulty is starting to look a decent finisher. Still has a dreadful first, second and third touch though.....

Yeah, but lately second and third touches have been to pick the ball back out of the net and to then hand it to the opposition, grinning.

George Thomas went from "he's useless get rid" to "sisu selling our best players again" in about 3 months.

His goal yesterday was fantastic. I think part of our problem has been it's a completely new forward line (except Beavon who has been here 6 months more). Players need time to settle sometimes. McNulty is starting to look like the player we expected.

2016/17 after 20 games
W4 D7 L9 F17 A25 GD-8 PTS 19
2017/18 after 20 games
W9 D5 L7 F21 A12 GD+9 PTS 32

The difference.....Won 5 games more, drew 2 games less, and lost just 2 games less that 2016/17
Only scored 4 more goals than this point last year but the telling one conceded 13 goals less.

But in a different league, so hardly relevant.

Therefore the whole threads irrelevant, right?

How many touches when he ran onto that ball and lobbed the keeper?

Exactly my point....you dickhead! He's alright with an instinctive finish, but if he has to control it hes fucked

Well, much improvement over the last few seasons, if you exclude Armstrong and Murphy.

McNulty is getting his groove on, so I expect at least 15 goals from him, same for Duck.

Ducks are greedy so maybe 18 for Nazon.

Oh we are a touchy this morning aren't we. Unfortunately your original post didn't convey your point very well. You could almost say your first touch let you down.

Not necessarily, just the part when someone compares this season results with last seasons, without pointing out the blatantly obvious fact, that we’re in a completely different league!

What relevance does the blatantly obvious fact have? Are you suggesting that the higher you go up the leagues proportionally the higher the number of goals a top scorer gets?

I'm really not sure what your point is?

I think we're all aware of the blatant fact unless you've been in a coma for the last 12 months....
The threads titled last years top scorer compared to now.... now forgive me if I'm wrong but last year we were in league one and this year in league two. Therefore the top scorer stats of last season were also recorded in a different league.

So that very comparison is wrong on your suggestions your implying.

If you can compare last seasons top scorer to this then it's only reasonable to be able to compare stats too.
