We should beat Crewe but we never do.
Hope the new found optimism is not misguided.

ive seen crewe do nasty things to us (evil unspeakable things) long before the JPT their was a 4-1 defeat at their place that just killed me inside honestly i was convinced a month ago we would go down based simply on the fact our last home game was them and it would be just typical of them to be the team that put us to the sword.

my 20 points from 15 games target for survival
we have 7 in the 1st 5 of those games post Presley
so 13 to go in 10 games and we should be safe

Bristol City might not be as tough as everyone thinks. They'll at least be promoted by the time we play them, probably champions. Could work in our favour.

We need to aim to win 'em all, I know we won't but look at Barnsley. Instead of being concerned of games we might lose we should just concentrate on trying to win them. Yesterday showed the players have it in them and it must have been a good feeling for them.

Yep agree.

If they have won it out of sight, which looks extremely likely, there is a distinct possibility of them taking their foot off the gas a little.

Won't predict 10 games. Think we now need to look at each individual round of matches and analyse what might happen there.

So, Tuesday we have;

Crewe away at Bristol

Colchester at home to Yeovil

Notts County at home to Rochdale

Orient at home to Barnsley

Crawley away at Port Vale

Not bad fixtures I would have said from a City perspective.

Depends of they're on for a record points finish, I don't know what the record is?

Think it is 100 points maybe. I don't think Bristol are THAT good though. I don't think they are as good as other teams that have walked this league ove the years.

I do think we have a chance against them for sure.

You are right about Barnsley torchy, had we beaten them a month or so ago they would have been dragged right into the relegation battle, now they are in the play-off spots. This division is as crazy as it gets, even in our desperate position 5 wins on the bounce as Barnsley have done and we could be getting excited. I still think 3 of the relegated teams will come from the current bottom 5 plus another from above us.

They still have a chance at a getting a century. They only have keep up what they're doing. I'm not saying they will beat us, just that they will still have something to aim for even if they've got the league wrapped up.

I personally don't they are good enough to hit that target, but this year League One is a very unpredictable league for sure.

The problem is the amount of goals we concede. Barnsley kept 5 consecutive Cleansheets in their first 5 out of 6 consecutive wins so started and built on a solid base.
2-0 v crewe
1-0 v scunthorpe despite having ten men for over a half
1-0 v gillingham
1-0 vs us
3-0 vs walsall
3-1 vs Oldham

It's exactly the same as when sheff United went on that great run last season, something like 6-7 consecutive cleansheets.

2-0 v Shrewsbury
1-0 v gillingham
3-0 v bristol
1-0 v Colchester
1-0 v mk Dons
2-0 v peterborough
1-0 v carlisle
0-0 v PNE

We really need to start keep some cleansheets.

But they have 80 already from 37 games. They only need another 20 from 9, which is what they're achieving anyway.

Agree, think 3 of the bottom 4 will go. Notts County are in real danger. I'd rather be in our camp than theirs. Truly a massive result yesterday. At last something to really be positive within the group. The team mentality should get them home now for sure. Must follow up at Fleetwood. Fixtures look easier, somehow this morning. Pub beckoning.....

Not arguing that, stupot.

I just don't think they are that good and I don't think they are good enough to continue achieving that level. I just think it is a poor league.

Other clubs in previous years have been much stronger teams that Bristol in my opinion.

I know what they have achieved thus far. I am just not convinced it will continue in the same vein

An old cliché I know but win our home games and I think we'll be okay, yesterdays win was vital and even if we lose Tuesday, I don't think we will, it's 3 points in the bag from 2 away games, I suspect we would have been happy with 2 draws so we have a point more.

A point would be good on Tuesday I would say.

What we need to do is obviously keep on picking up points and if we were to draw a couple now I don't think that would be any bad thing. It would keep the points tally accumulating and we would remain unbeaten, which helps breed confidence.

I can't see why we can't beat Fleetwood, mind.

Fleetwood Draw
Doncaster Lose

Leyton Orient Draw
Notts County Win
Colchester Win
Oldham Win
Bristol Lose
Crewe Win
Crawley Draw

15 points and safe, and thats with me being fairly pessimistic in my predictions

Alas even if we won't every game, we'd still fall short of the usual 73/74 6th place benchmark

Let's just take one game at a time. Fleetwood next is it? If we can win at Chesterfield then we can get something here. Under SP defeat, mowbrays guidance is a different matter. Also, Bristol City are shite, there just better than most teams in this league and that's not saying much.
