Crazy to think how we've closed up at least 9 points on each of our play-off rivals in little over a month.

1st Coventry 21 points
9th Bristol City 12
11th Norwich 11
12th West Brom 11
14th Watford 10
18th Blackburn 9

Next opponents

19th Oxford 9
17th Stoke 9
24th Derby 2

If we supported anybody other than Coventry we'd be conceding 5th and concentrating on battling for the last available slot.

For me we have to get in there first rather than be reliant on other people .once we are in those playoff places then its ours to lose and thats when we will see whether we've got the balls to go the distance ... its always easier chasing than it is being chased

If we are serious about top six we really should be looking at three points against our next three fixtures. All teams in the relegation battle and it then sets us up nicely for the hardest three fixtures in our run in

I guess you could argue that each of those clubs has had their own strong spell during the season where they've exceeded our points total by some distance. The key question is will our strong run continue and can at least one of those clubs put another run together? Of any I'd pick Norwich, with their very strong home form and Sargent back to full fitness.

I think Norwich too, if Sargent stays fit. West Brom will probably stick around, even though they are way overrated by some on here. The others on that list, imo, will fall away.

I think it's out of us, Blackburn, WBA, Norwich and Watford, some so called easy games for some early on, with a lot of the top teams mixed in.
Really difficult to call, as if the top 2 pull away and 3rd and 4th are virtually safe in their respective places, the games against them at the end of the season might be a bit easier
Last 6 games playing against top 4
Blackburn 2
WBA 0
Norwich 2
Watford 1
Cov 0

Possibly, but they need to start being more consistent. They've been in midtable form for a while now and that won't do them any favours with us, Norwich and Bristol knocking on the door.

Blackburn will almost certainly finish midtable. Their form just hasn't been good enough for a while now.

Yeh i'm basing it on the fact its just what they tend to do. I'd like them to fall off though, they are a seriously dull football club.

The way it’s going there’s a serious chance we could catch Sunderland, 7 points from the next 3 is a minimum, tough run after that but theyre the games you want, can see us at least drawing with Sunderland, lose to sheff Utd and possibly drawing with Burnley 2/3 points from those would be brilliant, then not a bad run in, whatever happens it’s been some turn around

I think our next marker will be after the Sunderland, Sheff Utd, Burnley games.

if we’re within 3 points off the play offs then, we’ll make them

6 points from the next 3, and 3 points from the 3 after that, and we should be in a similar position to now - Anything better and we should be in top 6

As things stand its got a feel that 70 points might be enough for 6th.

Breaking that down, 10 points from the final two batches of 6 matches will put us there or thereabouts.

7 points from the next 3 followed by 3 from Sunderland, Burnley, Sheff U would hit that marker and that feels doable.

At the current run rate, we’ll finish in the Top 6 even with a disappointing result or two.

If games were played on paper, you would bet against 9 points in the next 3 which could probably even put us in contention for 4th if Sunderland continue to splutter.

That was the first time theyd won 2 in a row since the start of december. They are absolutely out of form.

Their away form will likely end their hopes regardless. I would say in reality its between us, WBA, Norwich, Bristol City and possibly Watford/Blackburn depending if they become consistent. Boro are in freefall and Millwalls run in is horrific playing nearly all the top sides away.

Watford are too inconsistent

Bristol City seem to always pick up enough to be around it so can't see them dropping out of the race

Norwich will be around it

As will Albion and us

The others will fall away I feel

Beat Sunderland then tests against Sheffield United and Burnley. We're good enough to give both a very good game. We've got a chance of being clear of 7th by these games.

My biggest worry is Rudoni showing Sheffield United how good he is and them going up with us failing in the playoffs.

Blackburn v Norwich this weekend. Great game for us. If Blackburn win Norwich will be about 6 points out of the playoffs with just 11 games to go. Blackburn are a point above us. A draw would damage both chances.

Add to this WBA v Leeds.

Big weekend this.

Pointless looking at other scores really, it rarely works if you're relying on other results to swing in your favour. Just need to focus on what we're doing and take it game by game.

Why would Rudoni showing how good he is equate to United going up & us failing in the playoffs?

Bristol have a difficult run in. 8 out of their remaining 12 games are against top half of the table sides.

Not sure they have the quality to put a serious run together.

Relying on? Not at all.

We play Oxford. We're 1 point behind Blackburn and WBA. Neither side has an easy game. Beat Oxford and WBA would have to beat Leeds and Blackburn would have to knock Norwich out of the race for the top 6. If we beat Oxford both WBA and Blackburn would have to win difficult games to keep us out of the top 6. We win and one of them don't we would have a 2 point gap to 7th.

Sheffield United took Hamer. Then they took O'Hare.

The last bit you took from not understanding. They go up we don't. Big bid for Rudoni. I want him to stay with us to see how far he can go.

All this talk - watch us get beat by Oxford on Saturday

we can go back to arguing and fighting with each other…. Matt smith will make an appearance discussing whether 50 points is enough to stay up, we’ll be blaming everyone from Lampard, to Dr Roberts and claiming Doug King is at fault..

Too much worrying going on .
As the management & players are saying , let’s just take one game at a time !
I am not bothered in the least about the scenarios that might play out , as others are not like us ……. We are on a fantastic run , with arguably our best players just coming back ……. We have never been stronger & so let’s just go to Oxford & bring back another 3 points up the M40 …… simples
