Former Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has been appointed as manager at Greek Division 2 side Larissa.
Coleman was offered the job at Larissa last year when the side were battling against relegation, but he delayed making a decision while he waited to hear if he would be offered the Wales job that eventually was given to Gary Speed.
It would appear in hindsight that by prevaricating, he dodged a bullet as Larissa went through three managers and relegation during last season which culminated in the team coach being stopped by angry fans and all of the windows were broken.
Coleman, who was sacked by Coventry City at the end of the 2009/10 season and has been out of football management ever since, finally accepted the job at Larissa. He has been given a one year contract and has been tasked with guiding them back to the Greek Division One.
Coleman had his first taste of management at Fulham after his playing career was cut short following a car crash in 2003. He was sacked in 2007 after narrowly avoiding relegation.
He then managed in Spain at Real Sociedad in 2007, but resigned in 2008 saying he couldn;t work with their recently elected new president.
He then became manager at Coventry City from 2008 until 2010
