Just opened mine and got pale blue screen, series of rotating white dots in the centre and the arrow is present.
But nothing happening!
Don't if I just closed it last time used or if it was updating /is updating.
Had an update relating to apps, which I didn't request while over in Paris and seem to have had connectivity issues since.
TBH I haven't been impressed with this Aspire ES 15, which has seemed slow since setting it up around 6months ago.
Maybe that wasn't done properly?

Is it Windows 10?

Does it have any text at all on there like this?

I guess you have tried turning it off for a bit then back on? How long have you left it for?

Also try taking the battery out for a bit so it properly powers off.

I don't know if this helps.

I stumbled upon this simple solution for spinning dots that won't go away.

Turn computer off, then restart and press F12 to get the Boot Device Menu.
Select POST behavior. Select Fast Boot and set to [OFF] status. Save and exit.
Hopefully, your computer will continue to start up successfully. At least, mine did.

After rebooting a couple of times with Fast Boot [OFF] you can repeat the steps to turn Fast Boot back [ON].
Otherwise, every restart will be painfully slow.

With Fast Boot off, additional steps are taken to resolve compatibility issues. In my case, when the startup was complete there was a notification of a program that needed updating. Perhaps that update was not compatible with a Windows update?

No good.
No way to enter the apps that are supposed to troubleshoot and f12 inactive
Seems the update on June 14th which is when I think mine did may have compatability issues.

Try holding shift button while you reboot?

On Tory laptops it's the shifty button.

On the Labour ones it does not do anything.

Not even a little note in Notepad saying sorry, there's no memory left?

All back on
Still a bit slow for my liking.
May have been in mid update.
Guess I'll find out the next time I turn it on /off!

Good idea Nick, always use Malwarebytes myself too.

Also Wingy, unless you're in an AC controlled room or a cool place at home, PC's, Laptops Electronic componenets etc. don't like heat! so a well ventilated area helps the laptop too.
