He costs us almost weekly.
If that had been his first really poor error fir a while people wouldn't be going on about it as much.

Yup

That's why I say, it will feel like a failure if we now don't make it.

Be a very, very disappointing end to the season.

My biggest issue with us under Lampard and co. is how poor we've been away from home.

Home form has been impressive and we've had some performances away, but not results.

He's not been able to turn around the 'win or lose, we don't do draws' vibe which isn't great.

We are 12th in the away form table and one more win would have made us 6th

Well in the words of roy Keane its his job to make saves ,he still helped create their winner for them .

This isnt on binks

Collins should still be on his line and binks shouldn't be having to backtrack towards goal to cover him

Professional or no, panic would’ve been involved for Binks too. Full momentum and on the half turn as well, very harsh to put it on him at all imo.

Simms has been fucking shit this season and the people pointing it out have been justified in their opinion

You seem comfortable knocking other players to make your point though , players that have given us more this season despite coming back from injuries etc

Simms is playing with an injury himself. That’s besides the point.

Assuming Lampard wants to play Wright as a striker next season, you still have to contend with the fact that A) we only have two contracted wingers going into next season and B) the ones we do have mustered 9 goals between them all season.

Personally, I’m confident EMC will have a big season next year but his output would be considered disappointing by his own standards because he had 30+ goal contributions last season.

The fact we have one player who has 10+ goals this season and he was out for 3-4 months is not good. Players like Simms, EMC, Sakamoto, Rudoni, BTA all need to score more goals.

EMC had 30 contributions in league 1 .. he has 9 or 10 in the championship and hes not played in alot of games

Jimmy is a reliable source but Lampard has alluded to players soldering on and for obvious reasons, isn’t going to announce which players and what injuries.

Even so, my point that we need more goals from elsewhere on the pitch is completely valid. For reference, Sakamoto’s MPG is 667 and there’s several wingers/AMs with an MPG below 300. Likewise, Rudoni’s 530 MPG will need to be improved upon.

So you agree he's at fault for the Hull and Plymouth goals despite the errors in the build up?

Yeah but he's only played 42 games. He'd have scored another 10+ in those three he missed.

With everyone fit, Lampard has favoured Haji upfront and his recent game time at LW has been forced. So thinking ahead, you need goal scorers out wide.

We almost definitely won’t be signing a ST in the summer unless BTA goes.

So we're bang average away from home.

That's kind of the point, isn't it?

'Poor' is a relative term, and it's not unreasonable to argue that a team with serious top 6 aspirations needs significantly better away form.

If we do miss out, it will be because of the away form over the season as a whole this season. To add, I don't think it's a stick to beat Lampard with at this stage.

OK, and that's left us having to beat a rival for the playoffs on the last day to scrape a points total that in a lot of seasons - incl. the last one - wouldn't get us in the top six.

If we want to be consistently at this end of the table, we need to do better away from home. I don't think that's a hot take. Taking one point from fifteen down the stretch isn't good.

and it's not just results. Performance levels look way off vs. at home. Hull was decent, otherwise we were poor and at times, shocking. Lampard's done well, but there's issues.

But we're 12th precisely because we didn't get that extra win.

3 consecutive away defeats to 3 of the worst teams in the championship.
Not good enough, and Frank has failed to address the one glaring weakness that's costing us points virtually every week.

I noticed Lampard went out of his way to what looked like him saying well done and patting him on the back Saturday after he came off.
Whether he did think that ot not who knows, he's definitely a more carrot than stick manager

If Haji is our number one striker going into next season, it’s unlikely we sign a striker.

If Bassette is grumbling about game time and you’ve got Simms who can get double figures… signing a player in your star player’s position isn’t happening unless we change formation or get promoted to the Prem.

Asante and Simms scored goals when we played 5-3-2 so it’s worth pondering what we did differently playing that formation v 4-2-3-1/4-3-3.

Whereas, we only have 2 wingers contracted for next season so we need at least one winger for depth whether not we renew Paterson.

Collins not hull really no although I can’t work out why he’s not a little sweeper like
Plymouth second one yep third one not so much

fundamentally he’s no worse than Wilson

He let it in at his near post Pete.

He's costing us goals almost weeky. Wilson at his worse was never this much of a liability, a liability, yes, but not as bad as Collins.

I think this is what we'll see happen. Especially if we are sticking with this formation. Wingers were targeted in January, i think we'll see the same in the summer.
Just going by the whispers, we're likely to see BTA leave before any other forward, unless substantial bids come in for Wright or Simms.
Not heard anything on what their plans for Norman are, perhaps it will depend on what additions we make up top and out wide.

The most straight forward stat is that we have (as it stands) scored 62 goals as a team so far this season.
Better than Bristol and Sunderland, level with Sheff Utd and only 4 less than Burnley.
We've conceded 58, that's simply not good enough, more than Derby, Preston and Hull City, which gives perspective.

I think the priority is going to be the back line, again just based on what i've heard, i'm sure Saddle has heard similar.
Obviously now there's the keeper issue as this simply can't go on, i'm sure they have already addressed it.

As a team, it’s good that players all over have chipped in but when it comes down to those games where we need that 1-2 star players to win us games, it’s been lacking at times. Bobby Thomas is arguably our most ‘clutch’ player, he’s scored 2 stoppage time winners at least.

Defensively, absolutely need to upgrade here, a top end CB and LB added to this group and that fixes a lot of issues imo.

It makes sense we targeted wingers because we have no depth there and I’d also argue that if you’re playing 1 striker, you need an attacking midfielder or winger to be your second top goal scorer.

Let’s assume Haji is joined by Simms as a goal threat, you still need another player who’s going to get 10+ goals for you. Back in the L2 days, Robins mentioned something along the lines of a promotion winning team needs 3.5 goal scorers. Thats broadly speaking, still true.
