I heard on the Athletics Totally football podcast that the West Hame fans were signing Lampards name at the Forest game before they went ahead. Assume this source has heard this aswell and took a shot in the dark with this story

They probably got the wrong end of the stick. West Ham fans hate him and it would be a 360 degree turnaround for them to suddenly want him back. If you've been posting on here for any length of time you will know that football fans changing their opinions once made is very rare.

Think he’s got back on his managerial feet here. Don’t see him leaving imminently. King is backing him, the squad is improving from the summer and there is a feel good factor at the minute with the stadium.

Fair enough. Will definitely have to look into him as a manager.

Personally if Lampard left I think I would consider John Mousinho from Pompey, Luke Williams, or Danny Rohl

I’d add Carlos Corberan to the list as well. Very good manager in my opinion

Think you’d struggle to convince him to move from Valencia.

I don’t think we’re at the point of selecting replacements yet are we?

The model Doug is using it would be a head coach not a old head manager. Doug has given the job with sole responsibility of coaching and developing players. He does not involve that person in anything outside that role.

FL is just a block in the structure and knows if a replacement is needed the who is easier to find. If FL goes it will be with compo attached and Doug will be onto the next one. Id like FL to see out the season and look then at the situation then. If they do come knocking it will be a tough decision for FL to make., hopefully he doesn't have to and the story is nothing but paper talk.

Lump on relegation if that happens. Not that he's not a good manager, but I just don't think they have the quality to play the way Ange likes to play.

I'd be pretty confident that FL will be our manager until at least the end of this season.

Unless we tank obviously but I reckon he'll be here when we finish min top 6 this season.

I’d be pretty confident that Lampard isn’t going to West Ham anytime soon.

His odds on him leaving are higher the better he does for us though and someone at the club might need to think about succession plans.

Plenty of decent managers are/will be available. At the moment Danny Rohl would be an asset to most clubs like ours.

Yes, this is what Doug was angling for ever since he came in and began to recruit senior executives and subject matter experts that reported to him, which likely made Robins pretty uncomfortable.

This is a more stable structure and does mean that if Lampard went although would be disruptive in the short term, it would not be as earth shattering as Robins leaving... or as it would have been had Robins left before King had gotten things set up.

This is very much the modern way of doing things, and you can see that Lampard has succeeded pretty well with very few additions. Anyone coming in would be expected to do the same.

As a sidenote - Lampard leaving would be an odd move for him - he's done that kind of move a few times now and he knows how cut throat it is, and how little control he will have... and of course that relationship between the fans and him & the owner will likely be a lot less smooth. I think he knows he needs to improve a club over a longer term and wait for the right bigger opportunity where those relationships are established and he will be given time. I don't think jumping into a Premiership hotseat is the right move for him at all.

That's going to be an interesting transformation from a side built around clean sheets .

Can't see Postacoglu putting up with the chairman's nonsense if I'm honest, now if Nuno can go to west ham that's the end of that chapter

From one of the most compact systems in the PL to one of the most expansive with added European football and not the deepest squad.

Ange could adapt but he is a stubborn one.

Could be an interesting ride.

Good start for him and will get his chance at a bigger club soon enough. Looks like he wants to play the right way and probably someone that will demand high work rate and tempo as a given.

Has this stopped him doing 606? Had to stop listening to it; him and Sutton as a duo is audio violence.
