Don't believe this - think there are others with more credit in the bank that they'd go to first - plus his 'Chelsea' background won't go down well with either set of fans if he went there.

No doubt he’d be of interest to a couple of premier sides and even with his Chelsea status, hes still a West Ham academy lad.

Personally think Lampard learnt his lesson from going back to Chelsea based on his interviews and will be very cautious about his next job especially when this one is going well.

Sure we’ll have a succession plan so not worried. Curious though to whether we’d consider Joe Edward’s if Lampard did leave. Would give us continuity and him another chance in the championship as a number 1.

I don’t think he would bail like that. He might have in the past but as you say he’s been burnt by that and he wants rebuild his reputation as a manager. West Ham are bit of a basket case club and Lampard has talked about working with a good chairman etc.

This is definitely happening now Doug hasn't bought him enough good players in the summer.

Be a good move by the owners...

Putting someone in charge who is less popular with the fans than them!

Would be career suicide from Frank to go there.

Sean Dyche better lined up to go there than Lampard

Also isn't he largely hated by West Ham fans?

Can`t see this myself.

Why would he swap stability and progression for chaos at a club where the fan base is in open revolt against the owners, a team that`s massively un balanced and with players scrapping with the fans ?

He came into a similar situation at Everton and by the end it was close to breaking him.

As it stands West Ham have got to be in the running as relegation candidates and Frank isn`t the type of manager to bring in as a firefighter, that`s someone like Dyche. ( not saying he`s what they need, but that`s the type of manager to stop the rot )

Mourinho would be a higher class and better version of Dyche, but he wouldn`t last long because of his personality and the fact that he always ends up going to war with the owners.

If West Ham’s owners didn’t realise how unpopular FL is with their fans, they’re about to find out once this rumour hits the socials.

Probably rubbish as per usual, but quite relaxed really.

We all know FL is a flight risk, from moment he came, good thing for us, his career is quite finely balanced, getting us over the line would really elevate, whilst jumping ship early say to a West Ham, would again leave further question marks to all.

the club is in outstanding health and a very attractive, stable job now.

Don’t think for one minute FL would jump ship now but we can all relax I think safe the club is on the right path, what will be, will be, manager wise.

If they can keep Summerville & Wilson fit I think they'll be fine, the way they dismantled Forest once they brought them on was very impressive & that will surely have given Potter some time. But then it is West Ham we are talking about

I work with a West Ham season ticket holder. They still hate Frank after his switch to Chelsea. He'd be against it from the start. + I think he'll need to get us promoted before a Premier League team looked at him again.

feeling's mutual by all accounts:

'Frank Lampard has hit out at former club West Ham, and revealed that he is still bitter about the way he was treated by the fans at Upton Park. The England midfielder believes that he was an unpopular figure on the terraces because the fans thought he was only in the squad due to his family connections.

"Being Frank Lampard's son brought with it different rules to those which apply to every other player," he explains in his autobiography, serialised in The Sun. "A section of the support believed I wasn't good enough for the starting line-up so I was put on the bench as some kind of favour. "And they let me know this every time I moved to do a warm-up."
Lampard, also the nephew of manager at the time Harry Redknapp, was also disgusted that chairman Terence Brown even entertained the idea of nepotism. "I felt suspicious about the people running the club and from that moment I'd never trust them again."

The worst moment of Lampard's West Ham career came when he broke his leg as an 18-year-old, and heard some cheers from his own supporters. The abuse was so bad that he admits he did consider giving up on football altogether. "I have tried not to think too much about what happened on March 15, 1997, but it's hard not to," he reflected. "We were away at Aston Villa when I went to challenge for a ball and caught my studs in the turf. Pain shot through my leg and I knew straight away it was broken.
"As I was being carried off around the visitors' end at Villa Park I recall cheering and some applause. It made me feel sick to the stomach.

"It got to the stage when I thought about jacking in football altogether. I would rather work nine to five with my mates than take abuse from 30,000 people every other week." Lampard has carved out a hugely successful career since switching to Chelsea in 2001, but his relationship with West Ham has still not picked up.
"Now I have won The Premiership with Chelsea and was runner-up to Ronaldinho as World Player of the Year it has become harder for the critics to handle," he said. "I remember when Joe Cole first came to Chelsea he would turn away in disappointment if West Ham lost. I would smile. "That's how deeply I felt. I wanted West Ham to lose. Now I don't even look for their results." '

chuck in an ex Millwall manager as his number two, and I don't think it'd go down too well.

Was just about to add this, theres a comment from Joe Cole - which said when the west ham scores came up when they were ar chelsea, if they lost lampard would laugh

Highly doubtful he'll go to west ham.

One team that concerns me is Palace - Glasner is getting a massive reputation now, and has done a stellar job, Can see him being picked up by a bigger team soon

Can see this happening, any manager who has the captain sold on deadline day without a replacement would be pissed off. He was poorly backed

Just for context Article stats Lampard is happy at Cov. Wants to manage at the prem but again imagine that applies to every manager in our league.

Got no worries on this one, Brentford would worry me more tbh

The club is a basket case. Their fans are disenfranchised and hate the stadium. Older fans are beginning to walk away because of it.

It's a very tough job.

Brentford are an odd one - They're massive on data driven approaches with a meticulous plan in place. They're most likely to approach someone unknown from the continent.

I think he will see his contract with us out. If I remember correctly it is up at the end of the season. He can take stock then and see where we are and what offers come in when the end of season managerial merry-go-round starts.

I reckon he will go if we aren't promoted but stay, at least for another year, if we are. It would make sense for him to stay if we make it to the Premier League. Most people - including most of us - will expect us to be relegated. If we are his reputation will scarcely be damaged but he will be regarded as a great manager if he keeps us up.
