I would have taken Santos since it would be a back three. International CB, good age and is technical. Shouldn’t of costed a fortune

Also, not very good…in the little I’ve seen of him.

Just wondering if JDS and Collins were at Chelsea when Frank was there?

Plus whilst there is talk of Joe Edwards as his assistant, is there any mention of a new defensive coach. Shay Given has been mentioned for GK coach but not much else. I doubt DK will allow Edwards, Morris and Cole to all come in

Both Dasilva and Collins were sold when Lampard was there IIRC

It was our former assistant managers recommendation that's these players be bought to the club.

I'm not convinced there is going to be a massive shift on transfer policy. Austin outlined at the fans forum why we have no loans and FL mostly brought in players at Derby that had played for him the season before.

Doug is probably hoping the Lampard name has a bit more gravitas in the transfer market and we can bring in higher potential permanent transfers. It will be interesting to see if Lampard shows any interest in Andrews too.

This. I don't want a bunch of loans or loads of new signings in Jan. Prove you can lead the 'deck'.

I would imagine Lampard’s phone will have been buzzing non stop with different clubs offering him great deals on the shit they want to offload. This is where we need a savvy operator to identify gems from the dross.

i guess it is what we should be doing when Hull announce their new manager. Hey I’ve got this great LB that would really do you a solid turn only a couple of mill. Goes by the name of JDS.. Cushty.

Pity he’s going to have to wait until January really.

If I were King I’d want to see him get more from what we’ve got before opening the purse strings anyway.

I’m hoping he can get the best from Torp Eccles and Rudoni, and play more attacking to get the best from our front three and then maybe we’ll just score three a game to offset the two we let in.

Indeed. f you hire a Head Coach rather than a Manager, then you have to expect them to get more out of what they've got.

Forget youth team, Chelsea have a 2nd 11 worth nearly a billion dollars and all need game time!!!

The owner hasn’t changed so I’d be surprised if we got a raft of loans in. And to be honest I hope we don’t. One, maybe two max.

Ahh, people with short memories.

You are forgetting we got Robert Jarni all those years back.

Yeah, that seemed to be the message in the press conference which is reassuring. We know we'll add one or two in Jan but that needs to be based on what the squad needs, not what Lampard wants before he's had a chance to work with them.
