Give the kid a bloody game TM! He was instrumental in our run at the start of the season and tore Sheff Utd a new one.

Murphy has been awful and Hunt; underwhelming. He deserves a start

Agreed, I thought he changed the game before we got the equaliser when he came on against Fleetwood.

I think he is another confidence player and needs to be around the right people. He does have the knack of putting through amazing defence splitting passes though.

Many have said that he has gone backwards since the start of the season...I'd be tempted to throw him tomorrow, though.

Wasn't it Lameiras who chased the ball into the corner immediately preceeding the goal?

He always strikes me as a player with no position not enough pace to be out wide and not strong enough to play as a ten and behind others for that role

No he put the ball through to there for Armstrong

Started well against Fleetwood and then faded badly, looks very lightweight but will be one of our few attacking midfielders left for next season so need to use him more this season.

He certainly deserves to be given a go. Was integral earlier in the season and hasn't been given anywhere near enough game time. Sadly another example of falling down the favour list. He definitely has a lot of talent, but unsurprisingly has lost his confidence. I thought Mowbray dropping him after his performance at Sheff Utd was completely out of order so I hope he plays tomorrow and plays well.

he did assist the goal vs fleetwood but that was down to terrible defensive lapse, other than that i dont think he helped much

im all for giving him a start, just hope he takes advantage cos i have not seen him play well for a long time now

Yep, you're right. It would officially go down as a an assist, but it was a wasteful ball to nowhere and it was only a terrible defensive error that gave Armstrong the opportunity to get the ball over.

It actually looks like a good ball for Fortune who randomly stopped running (If you can call it that).

Didn't see that at all. Would need to have another look. As per usual, Fortune didn't seem to be in the picture.

He plays loads of balls through that any decent striker should thrive on. It was no coincidence that it was only Fortune (and i'm not bigging him up but he's played at a higher level than most in the team) was the one to read it. Unfortunately, I think that Lameiras is playing balls through that are wasted on our current strike force and team.
I like Armstrong, but for a striker I don't think he makes anywhere near enough runs off the ball at the moment.
Give him a couple of years and he'll be crying out for a player of Lameiras's vision to be in the team with him to lay the ball on a plate for him.

Those reverse passes he plays are lethal. I find it a shame that he and Arma haven't shared the pitch that much for a long time. Think it presents one of the hardest moves to defend against when it happens.

Yes, completely blindsides the defenders. Lameiras did one in the first half against Burton but was withdrawn at half time.

He's a frustrating player. As Nick says he has a great skill of playing defence splitting passes, but sometimes like other players with that ability / skill struggles with the basics.

Reminds me of a little kid at times (partly because he looks like one!!) just running around wanting the ball, not getting it, but then when we as a team get possession he's rarely in his right position to receive the pass.

Can't do any worse than Hunt did on Tuesday night though!

Done one against Millwall that Armstrong scored from, and another against Sheffield utd but Armstrong missed that shot. I'm a big fan of lameiras and would have him way way ahead of Murphy. I think he's skillful, got great vision and not the biggest but his skill allows him to hold the ball up really well.

The start of the season he connected so well with maddison whose head has gone IMO and Armstrong. Brilliant player not being allowed to play

Not sure if Lameiras is the solution but he can't do any worse than Murphy recently so I would give him a game

I think lameires would suit the 10 role perfectly. Has a eye for goal and the vision for a pass. Not the fastest but has the touch and quick feet. Like to see him given a run. Early season he played some good stuff for AA to feed off.

That ball for AA's goal V Millwall was something else!

Undoubtedly has the skill but does he have the desire?
Needs to beef up a bit for this league. But doesn't seem the type to put in extra physical work.
Watched him warm up all season and I must say I have never seen anyone put less effort in. He just talks to his training partner and moves a least as possible. If I was the fitness coach I'd kick his ass. Then again he gets away with it each week so I also question what the fitness coach is looking at. Watch him tomorrow its hilarious.

Atleast he shows up for the warm up at HT; unlike MAF when he's on the bench, yet still manages to be the first sub to come on

Thing is, saying he needs to beef up. He was our best player in the most physical game we seemed to have this season.

I'd have him on bench for today but would certainly try to use him at some stage if game allows.
He's been a little unlucky but also is very inconsistent and drifts in and out of games ......not sure he is answer
for today's big game from the start anyhow.

As the game was so bad on Tuesday I watched the half time warm up and I thought there was a big difference Barnsley were doing shuttles and looking busy while we had the goalie and Lamieries spraying long passes to each other and the rest appearing after a while it is no surprise our players start slowly when they come on.
