I am getting frustrated by the ommission of one of our own players at the expense of Kent on loan from Liverpool. Yes he is quick, but so easy to defend against. He gets past players then they lean on him and he falls over. Too light weight for this division and has little composure and end product.

Lameiras on the other hand, despite being lightweight (albeit not as bad) consistently threads quality balls through to others, can cross and take his man on.

It is starting to annoy me frankly that Lameiras is not starting. He has looked particularly effective when playing out on the right...

to be fair - nailed on penalty yesterday should have been given
the problem yesterday was Joe cole - not good enough for a start (as per other thread)

Without Murphy you need Kent for his pace and directness. With Murphy, I'd agree on Lamerias ahead of Kent.

I know he gets a lot of stick but he moves the ball forward, which in a team of Sammy Clingans yesterday was needed.

Kent probably has an agreement in his loan contract that he has to play a certain amount of minutes/games because Liverpool wanted him at a Championship club originally

So when he goes back in Jan, hopefully we will see more of Lameiras

I think there is a chance Mowbray might let him go back we have options there and it opens a door for another loan perhaps a bit more much needed experience.

Thought Kent was decent yesterday. Only one out of the front four to spin and make direct runs that panicked the defence. Cole was very poor. Jim was a lot of running with no final product and Arma had no service.

Lameiras > Kent

I don't think it's as simple as Lameiras>Kent

Against teams who will attack us Kent can be very useful on the break as we saw with Kent and Murphy v Gillingham, running at defences and exploiting free space and also he can also be deadly running at tired legs coming off the bench.

Against teams who are gonna have 10 men behind the ball and deny us space to exploit with pace I think we need slightly cuter and cleverer players like Maddison and Lameiras.

Agree loan or own they are here and willing to play for the club.. Kent has bags of skill and only 18 cut him some slack ...its been said before if he was the real deal he certainly wouldn't be here

Yea he played number 10, had an excellent game against a team who were open and defended poorly.
