"The Believer"

"That's why he backed Coventry to win away"

Fair enough in the relegation season, but we're not THAT bad away now

Heard that for the 1st time about a week ago, but i wasnt sure if they said Coventry or not, but the 2nd time i heard it confirmed my ears didnt deceive me. And to be fair, we had a decent away record last season. 1st team to be Leyton Orient and 1 of the few teams to take anything from Molyneux

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...ladbrokes-slammed-naive-coventry-city-7202759

City supporter Anthony Hornsby has sent a strongly worded email to the betting company and has told the Telegraph choosing the Sky Blues to mock was 'naive' given the club's current situation.

He said: “I thought the advert was very derogatory towards the club amid the ownership issues especially as most fans feel that the games at Northampton are away games anyway.

"Of all the clubs to chose they had to pick Coventry, I usually condone humorous adverts like this but given the circumstances why kick us when we are down?”

Some people need to lighten up really don't they?

Why would he need to end a "strongly worded email" to them with SISU out?

Quite clearly just looking for attention.

Judging by the make up of the forum members, plus this chap; I think we possibly have the most diverse fan base going! We really are a happy band aren't we.

I'm now boycotting watching the Mike Bassett England Manager film now due to the shameful accusation that Coventry City Assistant Managers will end up as ticket collectors on a rail franchise.

They're far too underqualified for that.

If he had of pulled off the overhead kick and smashed it in the goal, that'd be a massive Shhhhh to other clubs

This advert is absolutely hilarious... I mean okay the situation we are in is horrible and I hate it just as much as anyone... But Jesus if you are seriously bothered by this (or as much as CT are suggesting) please reevaluate your life. It's meant as a joke and to be honest it's a cracking advert... I love it! At least ladbrokes haven't forgotten about us!

For those of us who have lived most of our lives outside of Cov, being the subject of ridicule and piss taking is nothing exceptional. In fact it is par for the course! Character building is how I put over to the kids!

We have endured more than to let an advert worry us.I've been a fan for 50 years and I'm still here !

Why is everyone going so mad about this Ladbrookes advert? Yh, they made a little joke at our expense, so what? Who hasnt? People took the mick before we got into this mess, why should they stop now? We do it all the time. I've got bigger things to worry about, like my club's future. So people should stop winging and crying about a silly little advert and focus on what happening here and now. And if im honest, i actually think the advert is pretty funny. Miss the funny crazy Italian bloke tho

The real offensive side is how they paint their customer base as some kind of Oceans Eleven crew of debonair gambling LADS rather than on the laptop betting, scratching themselves and then smelling their hands to see if they really need to have a shower today.

Yes. They are indeed the first marketing team to ever inflate the egos of their target market.

Next you'll be telling me that Ferrero Rocher aren't the height of international diplomatic hospitality.

I see what you mean.

I suppose it's the same as when they do Vodka/Whiskey adverts, and make it look great, but reality is, they are hard drinks so to speak. Same with gambling, leads to homes being lost etc.
