Ok, so I've just had a trawl through the bbc transfer pagers for April, May and June. We are certainly not alone in our lack of transfers. In fact half of the clubs in our league are yet to sign any one.

4 signings: Crawley
3 signings: sheff Utd, gillingham and notts county
2 signings: Bradford,Yeovil, Chesterfield
1 signing: PNE, Peterborough, port vale, MK dons, Fleetwood, Oldham

The rest have not made a signing yet

So 55% of teams in our division have made at least 1 signing. The majority.

So half the clubs in the league have made signings
So we are in the bottom half of the table for signings surely that is not good

Especially when we are a squad in desperate need of signings

I get what you mean but it was more all the doom and gloom that we haven't signed anyone saying we were getting left behind because everyone else signed players, just because we did or didn't miss out on aaron martin, when in fact around half of the clubs in our league haven't signed anyone yet

It's more a.....

Kind of thread. Not to say it won't go Pete tong of course.

I believe you don't get bonus points for being top of the signings chart...

It could be interesting to look back on Stu's list at the end of the season and compare where those clubs finished with early signings made.

Yes, I know it won't tell us if early signings correlate to league success and it won't tell us if teams are successful because they made early signings, or whether teams make early signings because they are successful, but it could still be mildly interesting anecdotally.

Not you just get points later on especially after January when a certain team always runs out of steam

However the point is you proved it is correct and not a myth we are in the bottom half of the signings table.

Come on Sky Blues all we are saying is give Pressley a chance ( feel there is a song in there somewhere.)

It's a valid point stupot, half the teams in the league haven't signed anyone yet.

Only problem is more than half the teams in the league didn't finish below us. We also started the season with a better squad than we finished with.

Slight concern is - we have a list of players we are interested in, but we have one of the smaller budgets (don't have the figures, but doesn't take a genius). Suggest our list of players will decrease (Aaron Martin) and we will be looking at the crumbs in the cookie jar by the time we've counted our pennies out. But then again, I'll be happy to be wrong

That's more to do with strengthening and freshening the squad in January, than the amount of signings they made before the 7th June

That's a different argument that the ongoing going moaning about not yet signing anyone by the 7th June.

We have a lot more to worry and moan about than not signing anyone this early yet.

No in January you tend to get tripe
Do it now and have a big enough squad for the season so we don't get all the usual chopping and changing.

Two players in each position of league one standard plus the kids.

Fingers crossed the club have said that that us their aim.

I appreciate it is early doors now but every year recently it has been the last minute due to something. Just hope this season is different

We are lucky, normally we are in a transfer embargo by now.

At least it's nice We have the choice of signing no one now.

Different argument but a valid point. The majority of teams finished above us and the majority of them already have the jump on us in strengthening their squads.

I disagree challenging teams who are challenging at the top end do strengthen, wolves did (6 players inc. Clarke and dicko), brentford (7 players), leyton orient (7 players + 2 feb +1 march ), Rotherham (6 players), preston (4 players), Peterborough (2 players inc. 1x £500k + 3 feb + 1 march). 7th place Sheff united also brought in a fair few players too. (Lost the will to look at any others).

The flip side is in real terms only 8 teams finished above us if you discount the 10 point deduction, so only a third not the majority performed better than us over a an entire season (yes I know our form nosedived). So from the 5 remaining in our league sheff Utd (4 signings), Peterborough and PNE (1 signing) and leyton orient/Swindon (0 signings).

Only we get the 'tripe', our promotion rivals tend to do quite well out of them.

Could you check on D3 squad sizes please, I thought ours was quite small now & therefore should need to sign a few more players than average.
