12,500 seats.... Back in Cov would be an almost sell out every home game.

23,000 upgrade, not sustainable should we reach premiership.

We have the foundations already for the big time sat empty on the A444. Do sisu see us as a decent championship club at the very best.

As any new stadium adds roughly 30% to the gate anyway, surely we'd be sold out in the first season? (10k+30%=13k)

Yes, that is probably correct. Thing is, if we had a great season that first year and were top of the league, then on a number of occasions that capacity wouldn't be enough.

Wrong analysis shmmeee 1,000 +30% = 1300. Because if they ever did build it (Which I do not believe they will) after 5 years at the dump 1,000 is all there will be.

They may just be daft enough to do it.

We need to stay together and get the message over that the customer base will be small and they will not persuade us to change our minds.
Just wish it could be 100% away from Sixfields but that was never going to be the case.
We need to ignore the few that get caught in with Sisu spin, particularly the ones that think they are helping design the stadium.

Continued avoidance of Sixfields is essential, even though the team will continue to do well (hopefully) and entice us back.

I really don't understand why people think 12,000 isnt enough to start with? Our average attendances for the last year or two have been 10-11,000. I would rather a full house every week with a good atmosphere than a 32,000 empty shell which was the downside to the Ricoh! Grow the ground with growth of success.

The key word there is average. 8 games last season had crowds that would have been too big for the proposed stadium, a further 2 probably would have been when you take into account home / away split and segregation. That of course means that even if we had a similar season attendance wise (don't forget last season saw our lowest average in a long time) not everyone would be able to get in and the average would be lower meaning less money coming into the club. If it's all about revenues surely you want to maximise the money coming in?

12,000 isn't enough if we have success. If we have success it won't be anywhere big enough. We were top of table then Wolves at home would be about 20,000-22,000.

Sounds to me like the club are not banking on any success.

OK so thats 8 games in 23 home games. For me that stat is not a concern. If it was me I would start on 18-20,000 but I don't have an issue with starting on 12K.

You don't have a problem that for a third of our games we would be locking people out of the stadium? You don't have a problem that we will be losing a major revenue stream?

When that causes the average to drop shall we take out a few more seats and lower the capacity?

Otis, I understand your point of view but I've seen 2 posts from you where you say 'If we are top of the league'. Although that is possible when have we ever been top of the league? We as a club can be ambitious but also realistic. We don't need a 32,000 seater stadium in current times. I would revert back to the Ricoh tomorrow but that ground is too big for us most of the time.

I would hope we are in the Championship by then at the very least but do I expect it? No. Ive supported this club for a long time and I havent seen us finish in the top 6 of any league. I hope I am wrong but I don't think we will get promoted this year either.

Seriously, do you think we're at a peak of support or at the trough of a trend?

If we are at the peak I take it Sisu have no plans for Championship football?

Our average gate in our relegation season was over 15k. You think we wouldn't beat it post-promotion season?

And as I said before standard new stadium crowd bump is 30%

I wonder here, and this is a serious question, is there a massive difference between the cost of stadiums based on capacity? A cost per seat?

Just wondering what the difference in cost would be between say, a 12,000 seater stadium and a 15,000 seater stadium? Can only think it would be the cost of putting the 3,000 extra seats in. Would that make that much of a difference?

For the life of me I cannot understand why any club that had any ambition in a league like ours. with a club like ours and a fanbase like ours, would plump for a 12,000 seater stadium.

Oh, and they've been trying to build on land they own since 2008 and have just got planning permission.
