Most outstanding forward for any away side at the Ricoh last season tore us to shreds on his own - got to sign him - if we are after that type of quality then we are going to have a good season

Hope you're right Covboy! I've calmed down a tad since yesterday but am still far from happy.

Agreed Reid would be a good step in the right direction, him and Jones on the flanks would be an exciting prospect. I'm praying we don't get gazumped now it's out in the open!

Here's to a positive week!!

We live in the 21st century now the time of mobile phones, agents, facebook etc, etc. All and their dog will know exactly who is available, out of contract, what wages they want. No secrets nowadays

If we do have somebody who can beat a man and put a cross in. If we have somebody like Sordell to try and get on the end of it then it sounds promising

Kyle Reid is a good tricky wide left player had two spells with us. On a good day a match winner on bad will fluff final delivery
(Bradford fan I know)

I can't disagree with that. But there are piles of L1 wingers who struggle to beat a man, Kyel does it for fun, his delivery is why he is in L1. I can't see a better L1 winger out there?

Just shows how clueless you are Reid would play as part of an attacking three.
McCann is the one who would replace Haynes.

Time to finally accept Stokes is a CB not a LB?

I don't think Mccann will be playing left wing back

I wouldn't want us (Walsall) to sign Reid. He looks tricky and exciting at watch at times, but badly lacks end product in terms of crossing, assists and goals. It this was part of the Vincelot deal, then they've got a better deal.

Having said that, never write players off at new clubs. You've all made your feelings known on Simeon Jackson coming to us, bit his first touch on Saturday against Derby was as good as anything I've seen for years - much better than Bradshaw's. If he scores goals as well then we'll have done ok.

Why would it have been part of the Vince lot deal?

Last summer many felt that we'd signed one of the best League 1 defensive midfielders in Vincelot, this summer we are hopefully getting one of the best wide players.
We have already replaced RV with McCann (for 6 months anyway).
When Swansea went up they relied heavily on Nathan Dyer (and another wide player whose name I forget) to create space in the middle for others to exploit.
Really hope we get Reid, if Mowbray gets him to keep it simple and do lots of one-twos / burst into the box then he could have a big impact for us

Whilst I agree totally in what the walsall fan says about kyel , I do believe ryan kent had the exact same qualities.
This had every opposition using 2 or 3 defenders marking him and helping draw middle men wide
If we have players that can unsettle another team it does Make for a plan b that we're looking for.

If tho , we are relying on kyel to provide the killer Ball then I'm 100% in the 'no thanks ' side of the argument.

Kyel would need a front 3 to Work with him and not off him or it'll be shit

McCann will not be playing wing back. The only reason he is trying this formation is having let Martin go he clearly can't find two central defenders. Also stokes could be a long term injury.

We will be back to four at the back if this doesn't work - which is highly likely.

Stokes clearly is a full back and won't be a central defender in a back four.

Stokes isn't even fit, I doubt he will play in the first month of the season.

I expect a big centre half to be signed very soon, preferably yesterday.

My thoughts were similar to this.

Another winger with no end product is going to frustrate the life out of me if it is true.

Let's hope it isn't the case!

therein lies the problem with jackson im afriad. His touch was class for us... his goal scoring, well that was the same as the last half a dozen clubs he'd not scored at. he hasnt scored goals at any club he has been at since Norwich, and he wasnt really proflific then.

No question we will sign a big centre half but when fit stokes will be part of the back three

The City boss has asked the supporters to trust him on this one and the fact that former Bradford City winger Kyel Reid is already at Ryton is certainly a good sign.

Kyel Reid will be a good signing for us. Reid on the left and Jones on the right is quite an exciting prospect.

We do need a seasoned goalscorer though. Sordell may or may not be he answer.

Sordell and tuggy aren't the answer. We need two more strikers badly.

One needs to be an Adam Armstrong fast and skillful 20 goals a year man and one needs to be a plan b huge unit up front who can head the ball. Sordell and tuggy and good back ups. No more if we are serious in this league

Who knows. To my knowledge he played left back and was one of the players of the season. Baffling comment.

indeed, yes he performed admirably at CB but considering we only have haynes as backup he is far more valuable as a left back

Whenever we usually sign players who have played well against us, they turn out to be pants

Let's hope he's the exception (if it happens....)
