You live in Lspa don't you torchy? They are going to go up next season. That will be two local clubs just 2 divisions from us. Apparently, because of Scottish connections we have Boyd all but signed and one or two others on the way.

I reckon we'll be in for Blair Spittal again especially as Queen's Park are an amateur club so he wouldn't command much of a fee.

It appears the new Nuneaton manager was working as a scout for City and watching Spittal.

Of the ex-Gers brigade who could join I think Barry Ferguson is a more realistic option in terms of who Pressley is likely to go for. Him, Fleck, Webster, Boyd...a Rangers version of what Strachan attempted at Middlesbrough a few years ago.

239 goals in 479 games.

6ft 1

Him and Wilson up top next season would be very useful in this division

I take it you either know how much he wants and how much we have to offer him then?

Either that or you're trying to piss on anything remotely positive, as per usual.

I hope we are not going to just sign Scottish players as they are very hit or miss when we do, for every Gary Gillespie or Ian Wallace there is a Sandy Robertson and Jim McInally.

He's left Blackpool now. I'm not sure if he's still planning on playing but he hasn't retired officially yet as far as I know.

To be fair, our signings tend to be hit and miss regardless of nationality.

His contract is up and it's not been renewed as he wanted to continue playing full time.

Why is being realistic wanting to piss on everything? Do you think I am happy with my club being in Northampton? I am not living the SISU dream.

2,000 tickets a game @ £10 x 23 games = £460,000

FFP rules allows 60% of income to be used on transfers and wages. This gives us about £300,000 to spend on transfers and the wage bill for players not covered by the academy and age rules. So we have about 6k a week to put the whole squad together.

What other income do we have? We can't rely on getting Arsenal away every season.

Now if we are at the Ricoh next season it would be a different matter altogether. They could budget on 10,000 a game. We would have £30,000 a week to put a squad together. Then yes I would believe. But where do you think we will be playing. Not wanting to piss on your chips at all. But we need to be realistic.

But what Edgy is trying to say Astute is that there is no need to ruin every thread with the sane repetitive bollocks that we see on all the other threads and Edgy has a point, don't take it the wrong way anyone could have mentioned FFP, but on this occasion you did..

That's not being realistic though Astute. Its being negative.

You bring up the Arsenal game and rightly say we can't survive hoping for that game to occur every season. But you can't then ignore the fact that it did happen and will be included in our FFP calculations next season along with that one off sponsorship. We are likely to have made upwards of 500k on that match and using your simple FFP calcs above that boosts our wage potential considerably.

If Boyd wants to come to England, in League 1, then we have a good a chance as anyone to sign him.

What Astute constantly seems to ignore is that the owners can put equity in to increase the wage fund if they choose to.

I do get the scepticism of that though, but people continually misquote and misunderstand how the FFP (SCMP) works.

The Arsenal game won't be included in the calculations for 14/15 as it's the current seasons income that is monitored not the previous season.

The problem I have is that some of our supporters get their hopes up when they see a thread like this. They don't understand the ramifications of FFP.

Edgy has a go at me and then shows he doesn't understand it himself.

If only we could have our own stadium and access to some commercial revenues to negate the reliance on an owners money.....

Who the hell are you to tell people what they can and can't say, Jesus. It's an open forum and we can post anything (within reason and for site admin to deal with). I wonder if we will see any other people come who don't like people telling others what they can and can't do come on here and have a go at you, but I doubt it. Also, if you really are the forum police then why not say something to the likes of Grendel who constantly has a go at ACL/CCC, is that not negative?

I know too.........

Why don't Sisu get their arses in gear then and try to buy it? Or will we get another reply re-directing all your anger towards ACL/CCC?
