Suspect Fadz might have had a word with Eustace at Blackburn. Fadz and Kitching used to lift share to home matches last season so they'll still be in touch.

Blackburn have loaned Sanderson so that may make any deal for Kitching less likely

Local press are saying he signed after we u-turned on Kitching's availability. Seems odd, can't get on the pitch for weeks no matter how bad we're doing defensively and now we won't let him leave.

Did we have a replacement lined up that has fallen through and we're not confident of getting anyone else in?

Looks like a change of formation tonight so perhaps linked to that? Id have thought it more likely that we had a planned signing that hasnt worked out though

Kitch is going nowhere, I feel very confident in saying that.

The decision to exclude him from the team was bonkers earlier in the season.

I would've hit the roof if him falling over let Riis score the equaliser.

Just after we had a few chances and they broke. He did exactly what was needed and just hammer the ball as hard as he could (and their player) miles out of play

Would have been a poor decision had we let him go. He’s a class act

Him and Bobby Thomas are our best 2 defenders both have potential to keep improving

Think he's proven that this would have been one of the worst decisions of recent seasons if it had gone ahead.

Discipline has improved massively. Now we have Grimes, him and Thomas will seem a lot more settled as they always have an option. Superb.

He's very rarely let us down and is our best centre back in my opinion .

The back 5 was necessary with the injuries and shows Lampard can adapt but with everyone fit, Binks or especially Lati are a waste of a player imo. I mean, you gonna play fucking Latibeaudiere or Mason-Clark? No brainer isn't it.

In what respect? Binks is the better passer and better positionally and more mobile. Kitching is in the Fadz mold, a unit who can command the box. I wouldn't say kitching "shits" all over binks. They're different types of defenders

He is classy in possession. His passing is very good at times and will bring the ball forwards into midfield well

I would disagree that Binks is in anyway better than Kitching in any of the ways you've mentioned to be honest

Have a look at the defensive stats with Binks in compared to Kitching

It's night and day. Yea Binks can spread a nice pass

But he cant defend for shit. And thats what you want first and foremost from your centre half

I said this on the match thread. The Preston front man gave our central pairing real problems in the second half and a better team may have scored more than once. It was a bit like Leeds and Ipswich but fortunately PNE were not as good

Binks is woeful positionally and his short passing isn't great, he's good at the diagonal though

Binks is pretty slow. No change of pace, no spring in his step. A real plodder when he runs. I like him but mobility and urgency are probably his biggest weakness. Kitching isn’t lighting but he can vary his speed and use it in bursts. His problem is that he commits and ends up having to chase shadows. Leans forward when he runs too which makes him look slower than he is.

Kitching has been okay and fairly solid. But still nothing really special. Thomas is the gem at the back

Yet it clicks when Kitching plays?
He is the catalyst to our defensive resurgence and yes makes Thomas the player we know he can be . For me Thomas doesn't perform as well alongside Lati or Binks
