So Blackburn are interested in signing Liam Kitching on loan, thoughts?
If it's true that we are trying to sign another CB on loan ourselves then I think it would be a good move. It gets his wages off the bill and potentially gives him some game time.

Funny one really, gave him a chance Saturday and I thought the whole group looked better for it,keep the same for the cup game see how it goes, especially if that Bernhard's playing.

I’d rather we focus on shifting Lati and Binks for profit.

think Kitching has much more upside than both

I'll be honest and say that out of the 4 CB we currently have i'd rate them in the following order:

1 Thomas
2 Kitching
3 Lati
4 Binks

Kitching has certainly got a howler in the locker ready to bust out, generally in the form of a red card but I just think he offers a bit more than either Lati or Binks. When we bought him I thought him and Thomas would make a great partnership but for whatever reason it hasn't really happened so far.

Thomas's distribution is awful. And he's the best out of the four ffs

Not sure of the benefit on a loan. If it was a fee then ok but Blackburn don't have a pot to piss in. So they won't be buying him at the end. So the only hope is he performs well enough to get a different move, but I actually think he's the best partner for Thomas currently on our books.

Thomas and Kitching scare the hell out of me. There’s speed addled cats that’s are less skittish.

The thinking behind this is fairly simple. Kitching doesn't get a game at Coventry, subsequently his value diminishes quickly as does his match fitness. Kitching goes out on loan to Blackburn, plays games, maintains match fitness and his value stays around the same, or Kitching does brilliantly at Blackburn, his loan expires he comes back to Coventry City and his market value has increased, we then move him on for a decent fee having not paid his wages for the duration of his loan but holding onto his market value.

This is why I would be more of the idea of Kitching going out on loan far more than Binks. I look at Binks and just don't see a club playing him, unless Plymouth or Mark Robins wanted him, Binks is 2 years away from really being physically up to the standards of this division.

Yep - will give you that. Changing from Collins to Dovin has made improvements and we even had a clean sheet or two in recent weeks. However, we cant keep conceding goals whilst our best two forwards are out injured and cant score more than we concede

Kitching’s reputation has definitely improved with him not having any playing time.

If they were gonna give us £2-3m I’d be tempted to cut our losses and let him go. But a loan doesn’t make sense to me.

He deserves more minutes anyway.

And sometimes this season and last season due to suspension. Three reds plus yellows. He thinks he is a tough guy but he isn't. Just sparky and gets sucked into indiscipline.

Blackburn obviously looking to replace McFadzean on their bench.

For what ever reason despite shipping goals for fun Robins, Carr, and Lampard haven’t fancied Kitchin. I wouldn’t expect him therefore to be the answer. Hopefully they and I are wrong.

If it brings in money and frees up wages to bring in what we need, happy days.

And that's very basic thinking. It doesn't take into account he's only going to cover injuries and i just as likely to harm his value than improve it. He has as much chance breaking into our team as he does blackburns.

Agree with most of the above. Would prefer to see Lati and Binks off. Definitely wouldn’t loan him. I’m perhaps naively assuming that if we do get rid of a couple of CH’s we’ve got others lined up. Don’t want to end up with Sakamoto and Allen playing there.

I don't see what we stand to gain by loaning him out. If he fails, we tank his sell-on value. If he does well, we have to try and pretend we didn't want to ship out a serviceable player.

There is a case for just getting rid (although personally I think that would be hasty) but if you're adamant he needs to be replaced then just sell him.

I don't disagree but Kitching's reputation has probably benefited from not being a team that concedes a couple of goals a game.

And he has somewhat mixed reputation off the pitch, which maybe a contributing factor as to why managers don’t play him.

And with 206 League appearance behind him you might think he would have grown out of needless red and yellow cards? Far too unpredictable from a temperament point of view.

I guess it’s possible that FL has to get the wage bill down before he can bring in new players.

Never mind the wage bill, it is obvious we need a transfer fee out to bring in other players.

Always liked Kitching (as a player) from the first time I saw him.

Strong, drives forward, good passer, and a bit of a nasty b*stard. H
His form last season from Nov-March was good.

He (and others) lost form, post Wolves.

Apart from Sheff Weds game this season, I think he's done well when called upon.

I think we have 4 decent CBs, but only Thomas & Kitching can play in a 2, which is the issue.

Binks is not disciplined enough in a 2, but he's decent in a 3, and I'd be interested to see him at LB.

Lati is a DM for me (back up CB / RB). Not strong or big enough to play in a 2.

Sergio Ramos has been sent off 29 times in his career so far , that is some record.

Suspect Fadz might have had a word with Eustace at Blackburn. Fadz and Kitching used to lift share to home matches last season so they'll still be in touch.
