Agreed although with Binks if saddle is right and they want crazy money maybe not worth it

Maybe worth it as a message to Kitching though.

Why are we so quick to criticise and write off our players. This season will have been a massive learning for Kitching and Thomas. They may well be mainstays for us for a long time.

Nobody is writing them off. But perhaps some time out of the side wouldn’t hurt Kitching especially

Maybe so. I’d still have started him today.

Thomas dug kitching out of the shit countless times today, in recent times kitching has lost the plot

As a defender, I think Kitching was better. Binks though as a ball playing defender is a class above. His first touch is effortless. However, today Binks was superb with his physicality. One crunching tackle on the edge of the area.
I thought Binks should have come in a few matches ago. Today's game will have raised his profile for a summer signing by someone.

Kitching we massively over paid for don't see much improvement in him but Thomas has massive potential

Today shows what has been said already. Thomas has the potential to be a premier league defender where as Kitching seems he will only reach the championship (unless promoted with ourselves). If and when we get promoted I can’t see Kitching starting.

Both will be great for us. Thomas has the ingredients to go right to the top IMO.

Yes premier league quality in the making, Kitching hasnt been great recently but the talent is there. Binks would be a great signing.
This is a premier league team. It really is. Gotta hold on to the players this summer!

Kitching when he plays well is a monster and i can see why we paid what we did for him although on current form he should be on the bench as Binks for me has been better this season. Thomas though is premier league standard clearly and holding onto him is going to be difficult.

Thomas did the same his crunching 50/50 header started a move for a goal. He wanted every ball. What a beast of a player. He was outstanding epitomised our whole performance .

Playing with full confidence of the management to keep trying attacking or forward moves, I loved him from the start at Leicester away, can't remember he was involved with the ball to Haji to smack the bar, hope I can find a clip!

I think we have a cracking defence for this level that are being pushed to play out of their comfort zone at times by playing so high and aggressive , thay maybe sometimes people miss how good they are .. its easy playing safe .. its not easy doing what we do

It annoys me when @Cally Fedora says our fullbacks can’t defend. They push so high up the pitch they’ll get caught out time to time

Despite fans groaning when the fullbacks stand off wingers, it's a very clear tactical instruction to defend the box much better than we had in recent seasons.

but we're inviting much more pressure that way - and a lot of our defending is last minute panicky type stuff.

But we're doing something right so who am i to judge!

I don’t think we are, personally. You talk a game v Boro for example, there was lots of ‘pressure’ but gave away 2 shots on target.

There were many times last season and the one before where we just didn’t defend the box well at all and we conceded more goals as a result.

It’s a bit of a Sunday league mentality to ‘close him down’ and win the 1v1 battle, as it were. At this level, defence is far more structural.

but to invite somebody into your penalty area as MVE seems to a lot lately increases the risk massively doesnt it?

Well it annoys me when unchallenged crosses pour into our box but that’s life. That’s the way we play. But surely there can’t be a serious case made that either Van Ewijk or Dasilva can defend??

Milan has been dribbled past 13 times all season. He’s made 19 interceptions
Dasilva has been dribbled past 10 times all season. He’s made 22 interceptions.
Their defensive stats are actually very good overall.

Maybe to be fair. I just like how he brings the ball into the opposition half to make space for others and I think it goes unnoticed.
