Striker only worries when he doesn't hear his name sung

Coventry City striker Marlon King has said he doesn't mind getting abuse from opposition fans and he doesn't let it affect his game.
King has only scored one goal since joining his old friend and mentor Aidy Boothroyd at Coventry City and that was from the penalty spot, although his manager did credit him with the goal at Scunthorpe that was ruled as a Murphy own goal.
King started the game only two days after hearing he had lost his appeal for his conviction of sexual assault, an offence for which he served nine months of an 18 month sentence.
He did come close to grabbing a late winner last Saturday at Reading with a free kick late on in the game. During the game he had been the subject of barracking from Reading fans, but the 30 year old King took it all in his stride.
He said, “You start worrying when they don’t sing your name. Even before everything happened, I always had people singing songs and getting stick and I see that as a compliment because it means I am a threat to their team. It didn’t look like I was upset today or any other day.”
