How great when you find out those in the limelight are not out your themselves. Writing his autobiography to raise funds for Down syndrome charity! Top man

He did well in those few earlygames. He was great against Brum.

I thought he was harshly judged Torch ,the comparisons with DeZeuw just did'nt stack up ,he still had decent mobility but I did expect more from him .in terms of leadership

This could be the longest rally ever. I wish the squad was a bit smaller.

Found it hard to see him in the same light after the incident at Crewe. He joined under AT to be a part of the Boys Club, totally different ethos under MR.

Ah the memories of all those posts saying how fit he was and that he wasn't too old and he was going to play centre mid for us week in week out, whenever anyone mentioned concerns about his age....

My thoughts exactly - at Crewe his reaction to the crowd was appalling and he was Captain !!
Telling your own fans F. Off when have travelled to watch rubbish on that day is unacceptable ! I was incensed but couldn't say what I wanted due to my young son standing next to me.
Good Riddance and a loooong retirement ! I never thought he was that good anyway !

If only Jordan Clarke would retire and write an autobiography... but then again it would probably just be the Nandos menu

Who cares? I was where it happened and be was getting really bad abuse from our fans. That was out of order. Why do football fans think they can dish it out but can't give it back?

Surprised at the timing but not at him doing it!

His playing career was never going to continue, especially under MR!

Decent guy, just past his best

Agreed...that's because too many fans thought this season was going to be a cakewalk and didn't like the fact we weren't hammering teams 5-0 from the off.

And his winning penalty and his stunning strike against Brum. Apart from that, what has Kevin Kilbane every done for us?

The two meaningful touches of the ball he had and they both came in the league cup....once voted the worst player in the pl and now we know why

He has been honest that his days are up.

He gave 100% but things didn't work out. Why older players like him attract such vitriol is beyond me. He has cost relatively little.

Consider the fact that Eastwood cost this club in excess of £4 million in transfers and wages.

You should reserve such judgements for the likes of him.

Agree with that. It'd have been quite easy for Kilbane to continue collecting his wages for doing nothing but he's called time on it-refreshing to see.

That's just it though he didn't give 100%, he put more effort into radio interviews than he did on the pitch
