I've been really impressed with the away support this season. But Crewe was full of em. Defo more than previous seasons!

It's definetly the first season (which I can remember anyway) where opposing fans have said more negative things about our fan base than positive. All the racism, toilet smashing, its getting a bit embarrassing.

Why would it even cross anybodies mind to say something like that to him though? I hate the way people say things and then moan when people say them back.

People abuse people like Jordan Clarke on twitter and as soon as they say something back they are calling for his head.

Fair play to Kilbane for being so calm.

Imagine going up to a big 7 foot giant pushing his daughter along in a wheelchair and telling him that he deserves a disabled daughter. Pretty sure they would do more than swear at you and rightly so.

A lot of our fans lately seem to be absolute pricks when it comes to throwing smoke bombs, smashing up toilets etc.

Perhaps at the next match you go to you might like to approach someone in a wheelchair and start giving them abuse, and just accept it if someone punches you - then come on here and proudly tell people what you did.
As a matter of interest, I wonder how old you are? My guess is mid to late teens, with no real perspective on real life.....same goes to your loyal sycophant CJParker

There are people on this forum - in fact people on this thread - that have used the word 'mong' at times. I have a nephew with Down's Syndrome and language like that offends me more than I can put into words, so I can't even begin to imagine the outrage KK must have felt.

You do not have a go at your own players, EVER.

Its ok to give banter to the opposition, but there is a line that should not be crossed. And thats personal abuse etc.

I dont see an issue with calling an opposition player any swear word etc, but saying stuff about thier family etc thats wrong.

Kilbane is a top quality footballer. Was a great player in his prime, but most importantly was a proper professional. It was a shame he came to us at he twilight of his career, but I've always liked him.

And if its true what was said to him, then I am truly embarrassed. That is horrific, and that fan needs to be made known to all of us. What a vile human being.

I have an 18 year old lad who is autistic. He is a big lad but as soft as they come. Some people see him as an easy target. They soon learn though if they try anything in front of me or his big brothers. They don't just get sworn at either. Neither my lads or myself are troublemakers. But if you throw bad insults at one of our own that we love and care for you are asking for trouble.

Or do some people think we should just let it go with a smile on our face and let the idiots do what they want, thinking nothing of the damage it causes?

Just don't see how Kilbane is supposed to be 'professional' and not react when he hears someone shout out something like this.

As I said before, the bloke is human.

If what was supposedly said was said then I don't see how anyone can criticise his reaction. Find it quite bizarre that anyone could be critical of Kevin Kilbane in all this if the story is true.

having worked on a voluntary basis with people with learning disabilities and downs sydrome i would have probably had to be restrained from thumping the idiot , thats probably to kind a word to describe the moron, yet if was personal, ............i'm not sure if I could have been restrained

As said earlier KB has gone up in my estimation with cancelling his contract and this

Look i'm sorry if my view offends i don't wanna piss people off, i'm not on here for that

Pretty unbelievable that a fan would not only shout something like that, but would research the guy's family history beforehand. Whole thing makes no sense to me.

Yep, it's a rehearsed and educated heckle, which makes it all the more bizarre.

Did any of us on here know that Kilbane had a daughter with Down's Syndrome?

Disgraceful thing to say to anybody. KK could justifiably have done an Eric Cantona on the bloke.

I was standing next to the "ball boy" bloke and his mates at that game- they were fairly pissed- as were a lot of the Cov support that day. I just thought they were boisterous and amusing at first- and making a welcome bit of noise given the subdued nature of some of our fans (then). The police intervened when he came back from abusing the lad and a few other people in the area told him he was out of order and it got a bit heated- they should have just carted the twat off, really. I've seen people arrested/ejected for a lot less.

As said voluntary and not a professional, yet i was talking with being in Kilbanes position where he was not in a carers position at the time of the incident
