So in short, if you avoid the aggro between the opposing fans you'll probably get caught up in people from the same side having a ruck. Plus people who have drunk more than they can cope with can't cope without a fag for 2 hours so it's poor design of stadium. Whilst we could debate the socio-economic underling causes or the inherent tribal nature of the football fan my hypothesis is that people are cunts

Although on the way out I don't understand why people decided they wanted to stop for a chat in the doorways?

Sounds like somebody near me in B23There was a bellend sat near me, kept going on about Biamou never ever winning a header. After about the 3rd time he swore an old fella said "he just won that one" at that point the guy was giving it loads to the old guy "he didnt, he wins fuck all, he will not win a header all night". Then just after he won another and it was "yeah but it didnt go to anybody did it". Was an absolute bellend, his wife (or carer) was clearly embarassed when he randomly started losing his shit at other fans.
Was getting quite aggressive with people as well, bet if he hadn't been like it with a couple of older blokes and it was somebody with a shorter fuse he would have had a slap.

I couldn't understand how he got tickets in that Block, although there were also two young lads next to us, in our seats actually. When I have tried to buy an additional seat it was disallowed because the system won't allow adults without children in the group.

The organisation & stewarding at the Ricoh is terrible. It wasn't fantastic to start with but the last 18 months or so its rapidly declined.
On the way in tonight the chap in front of me, an old chap, wasn't happy about being searched. The steward told him it was a legal requirement, which without looking it up I'm 99% certain is bollocks, and it was because tonights match had been given a high terrorism threat rating. Sure Cov v Notts County is right at the top of the ISIS list of potential targets!

True I've given up but sometimes I feel the need to chain smoke I still go to the smoking area at half time to speak to supporters I have known for many years.City make you want to smoke more to be fair

That's the point. The threat level prior to that event wasn't raised to the highest level, which is critical.With all due respect, I doubt an Ariana Grande concert aimed at 10 year old schoolgirls would be top of the ISIS target list,
I think it’s a bit extreme to not go to a match because of a few morons. I for one will not let the actions of a small minority stop me from following my team. If that were the case then nobody would attend a match in the top two tiers. Just count yourself lucky that you don’t support a team like Leeds or Millwall.As I was leaving the stadium on Saturday night, I was embarrassed and ashamed to see three lads arguing amongst themselves (Coventry fans, who had gone together as friends)...one of their friends had been collared by the police and they were arguing between themselves about it. These were lads who had clearly had too much to drink, and could not handle it. On the way to the match, there were people p****d out of their skulls on the train, and another group of lads with two crates of beers who were already a bit far gone.
I have also heard about Coventry fans spitting at a young Notts County fan after the match...what bravado it must take to spit at a 12 year old.
For me, the behaviour of fans is fast becoming the reason I don't go to as many matches any more, not the quality of football, league we are in or who we might be playing

I remember when I was 16,17, 18 years old and had a season ticket; I would walk to and from Highfield Road (particularly for night games) and never felt concerned about there being violent episodes to witness, and I certainly don't recall seeing any. Yet nowadays it is almost every match.
Is it a result of fans frustrations against the owners? Is it just more evident to me as I am more aware of my surroundings due to recent world events? Do these scuffles stick in the mind more because I would like to one day take my nieces to a game, only to then think that I would not wish for them to see such behaviour, or risk being verbally abused or even spat at?
