I'm afraid Snoz is disappointing me a little just lately. I dont want my respect for him to lower as it has for Kenny Dalglish this weekend.

Agree. Sillett has been disappointing. These things take time! We all know that. Very, very stupod thing to say that Hoffman would have been in by now.

Is John Sillett becoming a bit dillusional, does he think if the Hoff. hadn't the finance in place by someone somewhere and it won't be his money anyway he'd be even talking to sisu.

Starting to sound to me if Mr Sillett is not a Hoffman fan which is fair enough.

since snoz had some position given to him a couple of years ago he appears to be a little creepy around the clubs owners.

Any takeover takes time to negotiate. The seller (SISU) aren't desperate to sell so want the best (highest) price possible. The buyer obviously wants the lowest price possible. These things can take months to go through in any business.

Actually yes things can take time.....but how much time is reasonable? Frankly the Hoff has had an enormous amount of time on this and yet here we are still second guessing.
A statement should be released by both sides now to calm the fans, help in generating support that both sides must want? and ask for patience and at least show there is some goodwill and intent there. Without this I fear it will go on being chastised and ridiculed quite rightly.

I'd have thought that 'no news is good news'.

Huge deals like this take time.

Hoffman has enormous time on his hands ? The bloke has been setting up a new world bank ffs. Also the parties involved don't all live in Canley and Coundon you know they are from the otherside of the world with their businesses to run. Getting all these together must be a major headache and then there's the Higgs Charity and City Council to sort out too. No news is good news in my eyes

You have to remember, this doesn't go back to the first offer way back when, this only goes back to the offer of just a few weeks ago. These deals take months!

Months indeed. Our best hope is that the take-over is completed on time to save a summer fire sale of our promising youngsters. Anything more than that is a touch niaive

It's a complex deal - I'd imagine one potential issue (amongst many) is no-one knows which league we'll be in next year (although we have a good idea) - ie if we're relegated the assets anyone acquires (future revenue, player values, future ticket sales) are diminished/written down. If relegated the club will receive less money from Sky and will have a larger shortfall between revenue and costs. Sisu will need to account for this somehow in their valuation (wouldn't have been so much of an issue if Mad Ken had progressed conversations at the start of the season).

It took Sisu 3 months to takeover the club from a board that was desperate to sell. Buying the club from owners who are trying to get a return would take twice as long I would have thought.

FFS, leave Sillett alone. Rip SISU to shreds by all means... comparing him to Kenny Dalglish...I thought he was one of us...pathetic, the lot of ya. Its the usual you can't do anything about SISU so you will attack anything else.

People not allowed to criticise Sillett then even if they don't agree with what he has said .... ever?

If someone comes out with inappropriate comments, no matter who that is, then we all reserve the right to comment upon it and indeed criticise it. What do you mean "leave him alone?" he said something which many of us think was way off the mark and inaccuarate. Are we supposed to just ignore it?

A somewhat unfair comparison I would suggest.

In relative terms it is hardly huge. Tata buying JLR and Kratt buying Cadbury (and then wrecking it) are huge. Once a price is agreed both parties would normally go public and transfer of ownership would be fairly quick. One can only assume a price has not been agreed.

Not in the slightest. Sillett has chosen to come out and make some pretty inflamatory comments implying that GH is being dishonest about having the necessary financial backing to take the club forward. Why aren't we allowed to challenge that view? Because he has 'legend' status?

Just as with his comments about the protests he's coming across as a mouthpiece for SISU and I personally think he's being used by them because for many fans he's untouchable and they listen to him as he is 'one of us'. I don't think it's a coincidence that since he's had his new title bestowed on him by SISU he's made several statements effectively backing them. For me he will always be a legend but my respect for him is fading fast and he is not exempt from being challenged. If he is 'one of us' he'll be praying that GH can come up with the goods as without investment we are doomed...

Richard Keys is seen as GH's mouthpiece but I don't see you lambasting those who criticise him.

It simply followed Parkinson's law: Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.
Or in other words: Things takes the amount of time available.

They released enough statements last summer ... and that didn't help anybody.

I think most now realize that the deal is not simply about buying the club. No investors in their right mind would even consider entering into that kind of adventure.
GH's investors does not seem to be doing this out of blind love to the club - if they are interested that is because they smell an opportunity to make money. And that is not likely if the deal is about the club and nothing else.

That is why it is so much more complicated than four years ago and why it takes so much longer.

Sisu may well hold a strong hand here and see an opportunity to regain their investment in full - either from a direct and immidiate buy-out or from benefitting from a complex setup where they keep ownership of the club while GH and his investors build and run the infrastructure around the club.

Seems more likely. Acquisition of the 50% stake in the Ricoh would go a long way to helping the club become more self sustainable-paying in excess of £1m versus no rent + half of stadium revenue is a no brainer for starters.
