You could say he was at his peak, or at his peak when he left us for liverpool and won the treble including the uefa cup

I've always liked the "..that's our team..." bit.

The 'COV' album's got a number of catchy things on it-there's even one from the promotion winning side of '67.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000024YT1/?tag=skblta-21 (also on iTunes).

Yeah, we've got that. My son plays it on a loop and drives me mad.

I love "Jimmy Hill's Sky Blues".

Given that he had his absolute best season after he left us its fair to say we got to see pretty much the best of him. I thought he was absolutely immense in 99/00 and would say the best player I have ever seen play for the club. Followed by Dion.

My favourite's 'Huckerby', chiefly for the 'H-H-H-H-Huckerby' chorus.

I will forgive you for that comment if you confirm that you were too young to see Tommy Hutchison!!

The 'Huckerby' and 'Backing Strachan' songs had to be in contravention of taste and decency laws in at least 30 countries where people had access to CD players.

How did that great lyric go? 'Huckerby, huckerby catch him if you can, huckerby huckerby Darren is your man'.

I remember having a conversation with the people behind that as they wanted some input at the time. Some of the songs were so 'classic' they had to get them commissioned. They knew it was all shit, but they had to go with it in the end.

Most of the songs were cheesier than most stuff on the charts at the moment, which is really saying something. There was also a really odd version of the Sky Blue song which had some electric stuff going on. A bizarre but memorable album.

I thought he was ok, not more than that - certainly not in my top 10 City favourites and I only got the back end of some greats like Hutch who I couldn't include because I was too young and some of the 60's lot who my dad raves about, so decent enough but far from greatest ever imo.

His exit aside of course, nobody even comes close to Dion for me.
