I don't think you can put curfews or anything on players, if you live in a democracy you can't preach fascism. As was said earlier, they need to be brought up in a way that teaches them how to live outside the game. If they fail then the clubs have done all they can to make sure they don't. I don't mind a player going out and having a drink either, everybody needs to blow off steam and I don't go with this "they're paid big wages to do a job, not go out drinking" mentality. It's obviously the ones that go over the top, they need to be helped. The club tried to help Thornton but I'm afraid he was a lost cause, no love for the game and would rather be out pissing his pay cheque up the wall. That's fine, the club are guilt free but he has to look at himself in a mirror in 10-20 years time and think "what the hell did I do".
