Forgetting for a moment that Kevin Phillips is 40 and on a slightly high wage, but if the chance came to sign Kevin Phillips what would people think?

Obviously Kevin isn't going to give us a full 90 minutes, but for an impact sub when we are looking for a goal? I can't think of anyone better.

Worth a punt?

If he said he would come here for 1k a week, have him like a shot!

Exactly! Kevin Phillips has been a Pro-Footballer for 20 years he doesn't need money, I would offer him a £1K a Week deal on pay as you play, there would be no better poacher at this level!

He'd do a job for us.. would love it.. however, we need to replace Wilsons pace... were not going to do that with Kevin Phillips.. if we could get Dicko and Phillips.. Happy Days

No. Doesn't fit in with SP's whole philosophy...

....and its a bit tricky to forget that he is 40 & probably still wants about £5k per week.....

If he plays for free & helps out in training & washes the kit, then yeah....sign him up.

If he considers Northampton in the midlands yes

I think he could offer a positive vibe to both our current strikers, he's not an injury prone striker and could be just what we need to help clinch a play off spot

Although SISU would see him as a replacement for Clarke probably

You do have a point but he does work hard and get in the right positions.

Yeah admittedly to try and forget that will be difficult.. Could be a decent impact Sub though.

He literally does score wherever he goes, so yeah from me.

He won't be coming to Coventry. A luxury we cannot afford, unfortunately.

I think he said that he'd already signed for a club on Soccer AM on saturday, but I may have misheard. If he had signed for City, don't you think we would have heard by now?

Leicester on his radar, suspect they might just pay more?

Palace paid his contract up, he just wants to play somewhere local till the end of the season. He lives in the midlands. Playing at Northampton probably rules us out.

Yes, because it is not just what he can give on the pitch. You would think he would have a positive input on the training field and in the dressing room.

Didn't say he had signed, just that he had spent the day with a manager and was close to sorting a deal.

Someone tweeted to say that they spotted him in Leicester (getting coffee iirc) and he denied it. His face gave away that he was there though

Would love to see him with us though.

Yes yes yes. Knows where the goal is but also will want plenty of money to shoot at them

If it was as simple as signing him and watching the late goals flood in then yes. However with the way Pressley is running the squad its of paramount importance he fits in with the ethos he wants. So basically I am undecided but trust the manager to do what's right.

Never mind pay as you play how about pay as you score? £500 notes for every goal he bangs in.

I have wanted us to sign him for the last 5 years! Deffo would be a good signing but doubt we would pay the dolla for him
