Walked from Man City, walked from England. I like someone with a bit of resilience. Wouldn't really call Pressley a wanker. Wouldn't call him a good manager either. You want Keegan then?

Keegan didn't walk from Man City as such, he said he was retiring from management at the end of the season, and the only valid statement of those presented by you is the "England one".... but then look at the highlighted section...
Keegan resigned as England manager on 7 October 2000,[43][44] after England lost to a Dietmar Hamann goal for Germany in their first 2002 World Cup qualifier, in the last game to be played at Wembley Stadium,[45] before the old stadium was rebuilt. Keegan won only 38.9% of his games in charge, the lowest such percentage of any permanent England manager – although unlike Don Revie (1974–1977) or Steve McClaren (2006–2007), Keegan achieved qualification to a major tournament for England.
PS.... Just for balance Keegan wouldn't look at us because he knows he wouldn't be backed!

1992–1997
Newcastle United
1998–1999 Fulham
1999–2000 England
2001–2005 Manchester City
2008 Newcastle United

5 years at Newcastle, 4 years at Man City hardly non resilience wouldn't you say?.... And No I wouldn't want Keegan at CCFC because SISU wouldn't back him and would shit themselves if he got us promoted

So he dressed up walking away from the Man City job as retirement then went to Newcastle and bailed again when the going got tough. We look at his career in different ways obviously. I wondered how long it would take for Sisu to come up :banghead:

Are you real? there was a 3 years time difference between Man City and him being asked to go back to Newcastle. Try researching what reasons Keegan gave for leaving any of the Clubs before spouting off about him "Walking" Weren't you one of those that loved Mowbray? he walked didn't he? As for " I wondered how long it would take for Sisu to come up :banghead:[/QUOTE]" It was said before you mentioned it

So he didn't retire then did he? Nah, Mowbray's time was up after the Oldham game for me.

Yeah but that's not really retirement is it buddy? More hiatus, or a break. I'm not really retired from snooker because I haven't been to Rileys for a few years. I can tell you're a fan of King Kev. Sorry for slagging off your poster boy.

You got that in one mate. definately not "The model we're following" with the shower of shite owners we have. When Keegan walked from Fulham, it was to take the England job. He left Newcastle being honest by saying he couldn't take the Club on into the future. Or do you prefer wankers like Pressley knowing that he was doing a shit job but won't "Walk" because of the money?
PS. When you say "Spunking loads of money" He took to Newcastle probably some of the very best players in the World there... "Tino Asprilla in "96" for £6m, and Shearer the idol of Newcastle and England... Hardly "Spunking loads of cash" eh?

You mean the Alan Shearer who was the world record transfer fee??

The very same who.....
On 30 July 1996, for a world transfer record-breaking £15 million (equivalent to £25 million today) Shearer joined his hometown club and league runners-up Newcastle United, managed by his hero Keegan.[5][29][30] Shearer made his league debut away at Everton, on 17 August 1996,[31] and maintained his form during the rest of the season, finishing as Premier League top-scorer for the third consecutive season with 25 goals in 31 Premier League games,[24][32][33] as well as winning another PFA Player of the Year accolade,[22] despite a groin injury forcing him to miss seven matches. Perhaps his best performance of the season came on 2 February 1997[34] when Newcastle went into the final 15 minutes of the game 3–1 down at home to Leicester City in the league, only for Shearer to win them the game 4–3 by scoring a late hat-trick.[35

Some would say "Worth every penny" Hardly "Spunked away was it!

If you think Alan Shearer in his prime would go for 25 million in today's market you are an absolute lunatic.

I think the '£15 million (equivalent to £25 million)' statement means the value of the money today rather than what he would go for today. Altough I'm not sure what SBK thinks though.

WTF is your problem? I didn't write that piece I stated it isn't exactly "Spunking it away"... He took them to top of the league though finishing second in the league and finished top goal scorer for 3 years consecutive lunatic! Hardly shit returns was it?

Sir Alex would have happily blown that 15m out the water to land Shearer, but knew it
Wouldn't happen as the player was adamant he was going to NUFC.
When you consider what he bought to the club, apart from 148 goals in 303 games I
Think you would have to consider 15m a bit of a snip TBH.
SBk as hill said was clearly saying 15m then would be the equivalent of 25m today,
What would a 25 year old Shearer be worth today, probably not far short of 100m.
