Evening guys and gals.

Before I start, I've come on here and decided to post because I know that you lot are a decent bunch and I can have a decent chat/banter without it getting stupid. I've got a few mates who are Coventry fans and we always have a good laugh come game times, although they/you had the better results against us last season.
Ok, so I know that a transfer in or out can sometimes be stressful and I know that when it drags on, it's even worse. I have a few links to my club (Cardiff...or Crapdiff as some of you say) and am lucky enough to get wind of a few things now and again.

Keogh indeed said his goodbyes to the Coventry players on Friday and a fee (around £750k plus a promotion bonus) has been a greed between the two CCFC's. Keogh is expected in South Wales tomorrow and will put pen to paper on a three year deal with the club. Malky Mackay and the rest of the lads are in Switzerland so Keogh is expected to wrap up the move with our Chief Exec Alan Whitely who is also overseeing the final stages of our signing of South Korean Kim Bo-Kyung.

Anyway, this is genuine info and as I say, I'm just letting you guys know as you're a tidy bunch and I have a lot of time for you. In fact, you'll be missed next season and I truly hope you get back to at least the Championship soon.

Hopefully I'll stick about for a while if you guys don't mind and am willing to answer any questions I can.

Cheers

BIP

Do you know if there is any chance of a swap deal involving Cardiff players?

If true good luck to him, he will be missed you have one of the best defenders in the championship there.

P.S Any chance you could send Earnshaw the opposite way?

There's no Cardiff players involved. I've seen that a few have mentioned Earnshaw but that's not the case. There is still a chance that Earnie will go and in all honesty, he probably should but he's not part of this deal. I think he'd be perfect for you though and wouldn't be surprised if he made the move at some point in the season.

You should sign Clingan and Cranie and then you can have a great little ex Cov team, so good in fact they could get you relegated like us

Not too sure Cranie is the player for us but we certainly don't need any more midfielders lol

Can I ask how Coventry fans rate Keogh and what they feel his strengths/weaknesses are?

His positioning and reading of the game is top notch. He'll throw himself in front of anything - the amount of last ditch blocks he took last season was amazing. VERY highly rated, pretty much by 100% of Cov fans.

Strengths - Best Defender in the championship, never injured, never misses a match, inspirational captain, good in air and on the floor, just as good if not better as a right back.

Weaknesses - Not very good in goal

his positioining is poor thats why he has to recover with last ditch blocks!

He has come along leaps and bounds in the time he has been at the club and is a pretty solid Championship defender . For me is not half the player Turner is. £750k for him was an absolute scandal. I'm actually glad we are selling Keogh. If (and I know it's a bif if) the money is reinvested then I think it's a good bit of business. Hope we can bring in a goalscorer or 2.

How is Gunnarsson getting on?? First season he was here he looked like he was going to become a decent Premier League player in my view. He never quite developed in his 2nd and 3rd years though!

Not having that that, amount of times he covered for Clarke/Christie and Cranie last year was unbelievable how you can blame his positioning is laughable.

Keogh and Turner are very similar players who wear their hearts on their sleaves.

His best qualities are his consistency and his injury record, good blocker will throw himself at everything. Very good on the ball for a centre half. He isn't the best defender in the championship, also good at RB with his mazy runs down the wing

Interesting read on what you guys think of him, clearly see why Malky likes him then. As for taking your players, You're more than welcome to Dekel Kienan who is an excellent defender but isn't in Malkys plans or Anthony Gerrard who 90% of Cardiff fans would drive him to Coventry if it meant him out of our club! Good player, dreadful attitude.

I was very surprised by Ben Turner last season! What a player than guy is. Hardly missed a game and my word he's a beat of a guy. Deceptively quick too for a big guy

Not sure if that price is right though as I believe we rejected 800k and are holding out for a million?

£750k with £300k bonus if Cardiff are promoted. Wouldn't be surprised if we loaned a player to you too though. Darcy Blake anyone???

Blake's a decent player isn't he? Looked decent anytime I've seen him.

Regarding Keogh, he won't be playing every minute of every league game for you like he did for us as he's suspended for the first game of the season (only bad thing I can find!).

If he's gone (I'll wait for official confirmation before I believe it), he is one class defender and I'd have loved to have had a centre back pairing of him and Turner for this CCFC.

Shame if true, probably my favourite player since Lloyd McGrath, but once we were relegated the writing was on the wall. Good luck Rich.

As it goes I can't stand Cardiff for the way they've constantly spent beyond their means since Ridsdale and then the Malaysians got involved. It's clubs like yours that are sending the English game down the pot, along with the Leicesters and Man Citys of this world. However, you've come on here showing respect, so I tip my hat off and say you've got a quality centre half on your hands.

I wouldn't quite agree with you as although we have spent beyond our means, we've had to pay for it and there is no bigger example than the kit change. Ridsdale also dooped a lot of fans with an initiative he put in place. The Malaysians have one nothing more than pick up the mess. They have their ideas on investment as we are now finding out. I wouldn't say we're the worst offenders but I take your point with respect
