Keogh Christie and Clarke (1 Viewer)

When clarkes back we effectively have 3 right backs, IMO with bell being as woeful as he is why not try one of these right mid/wing.
I think keogh edges it going forward but taking him out of the back four would mean missing out on his defensive needs.

Clarke could be good right mid and I'm sure he has played there before, he's probably got more pace than bell and beats defenders.

Christie, again same as clarke could be good there quick, powerful and beats defenders that we lack with bell.
Some mates were telling me on saturday that when he was at The woodlands school, he played centre forward till up to about a year or two ago!
When you see his shooting though... Its awful.!

Thoughts?

Cant see Keogh as a right mid, think he holds the defence together well. Think Christie would be fairly good, looks like he has pace and the skill to take on players. Clarke would probably be the best option, got good pace and from what ive seen of him looks like he could do well out wide.

Unfortunately none of them can cross. Also we don't play with wide midfielders but if we did I.reckon maybe Christie would be the best option.

God no! Not Keogh on the wing, I'd honestly get kicked out for the language I'd spout every time he fucks up on the edge of the box.

Of that lot Christie looks like the most likely, at least he knows that if you can't cross you twat it hard across the area and hope for the best.

To be honest, on last night's showing I'd rather have him or Clarke at LB though.

Clarkey has played there a few times before, as you've said, but I think Cyrus would be the best option of the 3. He quick, isn't afraid to take defenders on and can actually put a decent cross in. Clarkey isn't as positive going forward and I wouldn't like to see Keogh taken out of the defence. I can't see any of them being converted to RM though.

Agree guicey keogh huffs & puffs 110 for effort but sadley no end product, final ball very poor.Think christie not a bad shout ,better going forward than defending.

I'll say it again as some didn't hear me..Keogh now has 3 assists in his last 3 appearances at RB (2 last season, I think when he moved out wide after starting at CB). He causes mayhem as he doesn't know what he's going to do, so neither do defenders! Plus the way he runs with in the ball is quite frankly the most cult thing we do on the pitch every week. I love it when he goes all snake hips, I really do!

That said, he does it better from deep. I'd say Chistie could be a winger in disguise-his crossing was crap at the start of the season, but awesome against Derby. He will improve that, and his decision making and shooting.

I'd say Christie; Keogh should stay in defense and Clarke shouldn't start over either of those 2. Christie is getting better at crossing but, as shown against Blackbpool, he's able to cut inside and shoot - you could see how desperate he was to score on Tuesday and he were to keep doing that, I could see him getting 5-10 goals this season.

Poor idea plus Bell is currently playing left midfield and constantly covering for Hussey so he isnt the guy that needs replacing!

I'd be tempted to put Clarke at RB and Cristie on the right wing. I'm not keen on Keogh

Really? I thought he was MOTM against Blackpool and has been one of our most consistantly good players so far. Clarke's the one I don't trust. Doesn't tackle bar the odd interception and doesn't use his ability to attack.

I don't think that is quite right. He was playing centre back for Woodlands and centre midfield for Coventry's academy (I think) and it was my mate who was his football coach at Woodlands who converted him to right back. Apologies to him if I've misquoted him! Apparently it was a decent team... three of his former team mates are signed to professional clubs (one is starting at Scunny and one is in the youth team at Villa, a lodger of Tony Daley)!

Indeed, apparently Christie has already been told he has been watched by a couple of scouts from Premiership and Championship clubs. My mate told him that it would be in his best interests to spend a couple of years at the City, learning his trade and improving. Apparently he's a good lad, level headed and has got a fierce shot on him. There must be something in the water at Woodlands; at least three England rugby internationals in recent years too (Neil Back, Danny Grewcock, Tom Wood and maybe one other whose name escapes me)

Are'nt they academy status ,with sport at centre,could be useful for the club to sponsor ,get in tighter with them
