Been told by a cousin of Richard Keogh that this contract talk is just basically sisu quietening the fans for a few months and ensuring we don't sell him on the cheap towards the end of his contract. They will then sell him in the summer, which is pretty much guaranteed

Watford also enquired about a price we would sell for, £3 million was the figure put to them. I'm not talking bull**** or anything, just passing on what I have been told.

Good price in fairness, but only if it would be put back into the team - which of course it wont be under SISU.

That will fund any turnover shortfall for the whole of next year in league one.

Realsistically it has got to be done.. I can't really imagine Kegoh staying.

£3m for a team relegated to L1 having put him on an improved and unsustainable contract - not a chance. May be worth it compared to some players out there moving for more but will half that at most I think.

My Keogh contact is also a cousin, I wonder if they are the same person? I guess that's pretty likely. I know that they asked for 1.5m for him in August. But 3m for a L1 player? Good luck with that, SISU!

We'd be lucky to get a million for him. L1 defender with a year on his contract.

How come soapy people know his cousin?

If we were taken over by Abramovic, Sheik Monsoor and Bill Gates all rolled into one and someone offered 3 million for Keogh i'd still snap their hand off.

serious question, would 3 million be a world record for a 3rd tier defender

as if we would get 3 million, i would suggest 750k tops..

I reckon it would be a record by some distance, certainly in England. Probably for any position?

Depends if you class CMS, Beckford and Oxlade-Chamberlain as 3rd tier a they were signed on the back of their performances in that league. Tenuous link I know!

Beckford went on a free

not sure about the other 2, other than they are both not defenders

When Reid and Dawson were at Forest and relegated to the third tier, they both joined Spurs for a joint £8m fee.

Depends how you carve that up?!?

The other two went after promotion anyway, so were technically Championship players by then. Just as Keogh would be a L1 defender by then.

What about Delph? He was megabucks, and didn't he go when they were still in L1?

No, I said West Brom enquired as to the availibility of him in January. Never did I say he was definitely going. Get your facts right

I know - was replying to nlhwc post 14, when he asked whether £3m was a record for any position in that league.

1st Feb 2005

Nottingham Forest duo Andy Reid and Michael Dawson have both completed moves to Tottenham just minutes before the transfer window deadline expired

Spurs had seen previous bids of £3m, £4m and £5m for Reid rejected by the Championship club.

.......................

They were championship, not League One...

So, unless we can unearth one, SISU may have a world record on their hands

I'd take £3m right now! Be another one who goes for the lowest bid though with these clowns in charge

With 12 months left on his contract he will not be going anywhere for £3m. His contract isn't even worth £3m for the year.

£1m and he will be gone.

1 Million folks.

I think he is worth 2. However I have not seen SISU obtain a true value for any player so far IMO

3 million is not a bad made up figure. Personally I'd hold out for the full made up 6 million. At least.

I dont think that even comes close to the full made up figure, remember Michael Doyle was on £80'000 a week when he was here.
