Richard Keogh awarded £2.3m in breach of contract case against Derby

Richard Keogh has secured a payout of about £2.3m from Derby after winning his long-running compensation claim against the club

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere,but a tidy sum!

Good. They had absolutely no case to sack him whatsoever, particularly as they didn't sack the 2 more guilty parties.

Fair play to Keogh they treated him discrasefully. Terminating his contract is probably the correct punishment but if you do that to one person then the same punishment must be applied to all.

Exactly this. If they'd sacked all of them they'd have an argument but only sacking the one who they perceived to have no value and whose wage they wanted off the books was poor to say the least.

I think it says more about the over inflated pay in the Championship when a player of Keogh’s (lack of) quality can earn that much money.

Yeah, I’m sure Keogh made some bad decisions that night, but Derby hung him out to dry in a callous, stupid and obviously cynical fashion.

if that drinks receipt that was doing the rounds after the accident is anything to go by that compo should last him about 8 months.
