Anyone else get the impression he's playing to impress the watching Liverpool officials rather than to help the team? He tries some audacious things, some come off, but most of the time he ignores a player in a better position to go alone and loses the ball\gets tackled.

Even if he was, surely that would only be of benefit to us?

Like Murphy, he does some good things, he does some bad things. Either one of them could be sacrificed IMO to accommodate Cole

Two fabulous bits of skill first half by us to beat two defenders.

Yep it was great, it is great watching him beat players but then he either tries to beat another player or provides an awful pass or lame shot

I like him , granted today was a weaker performance overall by his standards ..i have seen some critisize his passing and final ball but its not as bad as some are making out ..
Young lad , doing what young lads do .
The way he takes players on with such ease is great to watch

Don't disagree Nick it's the level we play at. Sat with an 8 and a 9 year old boy and they lapped up the skill. Loved it!

I can see where you are coming from, he (and Murphy) frustrate the hell out of me. Both take on 1 more player than they need to, both ignore players when better options are available and both are poor in their decision making in the final third. It does feel at times they are playing for themselves rather than the team.

Some of this is just basics so It's frustrating, because they are not bad habits the likes of Maddison and George Thomas have gone in to.

Can't play Murphy and Kent, both luxury players. Rather have the solid option of JOB and one of Murphy/Kent

When he first signed, they posted a video of him on the CT site. That was exactly what I saw. He gets the ball and immediately goes on a mazy run toward the goal and at the end loses the ball, falls over or shoots wildly. Rarely does anything come of it. I actually thought he would win us a few penalties but did not see a goal-scorer there at all.

Yes wants to score a Richie Partridge v Reading style goal, get a vine lots of RT's on social media etc. surely no player is that oblivious to team mates around him!? Haven't been that frustrated/annoyed with a City player in a long time yesterday. Every time he got the ball he was either going to keep going til he got tackled ot tried to get a shot away. Then we he did attempt a pass it went straight to the them.

Kent is a very talented lad but without the football brain, something Maddison has. Yesterday he did something amazing then passed it straight to a Blackpool player, who was then in a very decent counter attacking position! He's got a lot to learn but the lack of game time in proper competitive is very apparent. It's clear why Cole and Eagles have come in to TMs thinking, to help the younger players progress!

Didn't he set up Armstrong in the second half with a sitter?

AA probably wasn't expecting him to pass.

He is great to watch but the end product is lacking most of the time. As stated he did pull one back for Armstrong in the second half though. I think we're lucky to have him but could maybe use him a little more sparingly which Mowbray does seem to be addressing. All of the front 3 looked knackered yesterday .

Played hardly any first team football before he came here or Murphy and Armstrong either and that inexperience shows, get Joe Cole and Chris Eagles in and around them and all three will develop to another level

Yes that`s exactly the impression I had from that video.

There`s some raw talent there though if someone can get him to harness it properly. Probably won`t be with City long enough for that someone to be Mowbray.

I think Kent has great potential. Yesterday our forwards didn't click and Kent never had opportunities to expose their defence one on one. In the first half he hugged the right touch line and was well marked. Second half he had a little more freedom but quickly tired. He will improve

As TM has said, it is great to watch young players playing with confidence and flair. But on the flip side they can disapoint by being inconsistent.

We should remember these youngsters are still learning their trade and are still developing mentally and physically. We should also not underestimate how going away with England and travelling can drain the batteries.

Yesterday was just one of those days, when things didn't come together for our attacking youngsters. It can happen, even with top experienced players.
