Probably my paranoia, but everytime I see a premier league team looking to sack a manager (Forest this time), I fear Lampard may leave.

Talking more generally (not specific to the Forest example), do we think we’ll be able to keep him until the end of the season? If you were Doug would you be considering extending the contract now? Or would that be a knee jerk reaction to good form?

He has been seriously burnt by the press and ridiculous level of criticism he got from fans. He was border line ridiculed at Everton and his second stint at Chelsea. To chuck what he has here away for an environment where he would get no time would be madness.
Frank is financially well off so the pay rise would not be the be all and end all for him.

England would potentially be a job he would leave for, but that's not going to be this season.

I'm pretty chilled on this tbh and don't think there's need to worry. At the minute.

I genuinely think he is enjoying been here and appreciates having the support of the club owner. A club owner that seems to be stabilising the club and taking things forwards. Investment in the squad, purchasing the stadium. As a one club city we are suddenly looking like a sleeping giant that is awakening that can get to the Premier League. I think Lamps get's what this club offers. I think from his past experiences he will appreciate it for what it is. Why go to a club like Forest or indeed like some of the other clubs where it's a constant manager merry go round ?

At this point, I think he'll want to achieve something with us after being ridiculed and written off before. I also think he'd stick around if he took us up. I'd definitely be looking to extend his contract at this point and think he'll one day go on to manage England.

He is. Everything about the job is exceeding his expectations. He's very happy here.

He’s onto a good thing here and he’s building his reputation. He’s gets us promoted and manages us in the Premiership will be such a boost for him and the way the media portray him.

He’ll stay until the end of this season and longer if we go up. Can’t see him jumping ship this season.

Get him a helicopter as bonus thrown in.
In fact get one for the club's use.

A Prem team in trouble is unlikely to go for Frank. An owner will not want to risk his reputation by hiring a manager who would be seen as a gamble.

I think by Jan we need to offer him a new contract. Otherwise he has 1 more season with us.

Why would you go to a club with an owner who is unstable and unpredictable. He will not be with us forever and the key to his CV will be promoting a club like ours with not a massive budget like some clubs are prepared to spend.

It’s England Chelsea or taking the mighty Sky Blues to the Champions league for Frank

Depends what his motivation is. If it’s money and the bright lights of the premier league then fine but if he wants to stay where he has built something and currently top of the league and smashing every record in sight then he stays the season at the very least .

I actually think he stays regardless atm but let’s see how January and end of the season plays out. Ideally he goes up with us and we offer him a premier league deal. Win win

He'll see out the season here at the least.

I would be worried if this was his first job but he's tasted the Prem already. I can't really see a club that would take him that aren't on the down swing so I think he is clever enough to know that he'd be better off building something rather than being parachuted into somewhere chaotic.

I wonder what lampard really feels about the club and its supporters .

You tend to find coaches players and managers (eg robins, adi , Fadz etc ) get quite attached .. seems to be something about it .

I'm pretty confident we'll keep him for the near future. We're playing well and making news but he hasn't actually achieved anything with us yet. He's taken us from a play off team to a play off team.

I think from his perspective, he'll want to do something with us first.

He's not leaving us this season for a releagation battle. It would be a no win situation for him. Keep the team in question up and he's just done what's expected, go down and he gets some of the blame.

Not like he's short of a few quid and needs a move.

My concern is more that if we have a good season but don't go up we could be looking at losing Lampard, MVE, Rudoni, Wright and others in the close season.

I'm mean, he's not going to say it's a kip and I can't wait to get out!
But I believe he genuinely likes it here. Though I've no doubt t he's ambitious

He’s worth something like £75m; it’s definitely not about the money!

No chance he goes.

He needs this to work, and it is. He gets us promoted and keeps us up, his a big step closer to the England role.

He’s a very sensible chap, he knows all that.

He’s also used to being part of winning teams so I’m sure he’s enjoying the squad dynamics at the minute and the general feeling around the club.
