Does anyone know how much he was signed for? Think it was possibly one of the biggest waste of money we had under Robins as he cost a transfer fee unlike other bad transfers, like Hilssner, or we could not re-coup our money, such as Chaplin (not that Chaplin was a bad player, just did not perform for us)

He is hardly going to say, at the moment he is balling his eyes out and I can't see him being able to face up to playing on Wednesday is he?

Anyway it was Kitching's fuck up too.

kitching had that dealt with he was going to head it back, collins put him in that situation, if Collins doesn’t come for it worst case it’s out for a throw in or corner, collins stays in the box it’s not even a problem , like the first goal, he makes the wrong decisions, watch the last game he started against Portsmouth, you wouldn’t play him again

I don't rate Collins and never have. But Kitching still played his part in the mess up even if Collins was mainly at fault.

I did watch the Portsmouth game but I don't think we had any choice but to play Collins.

All Collins had to do was stay where he was, 100% on Collins, just basic goal keeping

anyway, hopefully Wilson’s fit enough to start, he helped get us to the play offs last time and he’ll do it again , might even pop up with another goal if we need it

Collins positioning was very poor but Kitching's positioning to deal with the through ball was poor also, turning and allowing it to drop over his shoulder. He could and should have dealt with it better.

Kitching faints to head it which I think he is about to do back to Collins until he realises where Collins is. I think the communication is as bad as the positioning. If he's coming out there you just clear everything in the way man and ball. Hesitation is the reason we conceded.

I’d be very surprised if Collins is dropped. At this point I really don’t understand why we gave Wilson a new contract though.

The fact that Wilson chose to sign it despite being a clear third choice at the time kind of sums up where his career is at.

Collins should have whacked it away even if it meant he was going crash into Kitching as he was it.

I've given Collins some stick on here which I'll admit is harsh but I've got to say well done to him last night for keeping a clean sheet and his distribution

Nice to see the fans give him some encouragement and I'm sure he loved getting involved with JP's celebration

It will do him the world of good and hopefully help us get the points we need for the top 6

Me too and with a travel planned for Hull on Monday, nobody is more pleased than me that we're in it and he didnt let us down, although reading some of the stuff online you'd think he'd played like Donnarumma. He had one save that went straight to him and things on here would've been very different if the one time he claim out to claim and missed it, went in instead of hitting the bar. I think there's a venn diagram that is a whole circle which has the people who say Wilson's 22 clean sheets were all down to the defence and last night's clean sheet was a good job Lampard kept faith with Collins.

A decision has been taken though, he'll be tested more than that in the coming weeks and we have to get behind him, let's hope he's up to it. What pleased me most about last night was his distribution. Sometimes a bit slow to release it, but pinged a couple of nice balls out wide and had a hand in the winner too.

Some of the comments before the game about how we were 100% doomed with Collins in goal were just embarassing, his ability on the ball clearly makes a difference in the way we want to build from the back. And I say that as someone with very little confidence in his shot-stopping abilities.

Well done brad. Regardless of my view of him , chuffed for him getting clean sheet last night.

Lets hope he and defence can build on that.

That alone is the reason he starts over Wilson. He doesnt have many positive attributes but his distribution is one of them.

I have said it on here before - Collins plays, has nothing to do and everyone thinks it's all ok again.
Wasn't tested at all last night - thankfully -
Got very lucky with a very poor decision to try to come for a corner and missed it altogether with the ball hitting the bar.
Nearly a carbon copy of one of the goals he conceded at Portsmouth.

Over the moon that he kept a clean sheet.
Pleased for him, the team and us the fans

He will cost us in this run in as technically he is a poor goalkeeper. I hate saying it but it is such a worry.

I'd love a goalkeeper that can save shots on target.

Could be worse we could have that clown who plays in goal for Manure Utd.

Why you flapping about it though? It's the hand we've been dealt, just accept it and hope he has a good run of form.
It's a tough ask to get up anyway, feel like we're huffing and puffing a bit heading into the play offs although i kind of still fancy us to get in as i don't think much of the teams trying to catch us either.

It was always going to be a lose-lose situation for Collins. Fuck up and he'd be hounded. Don't fuck up and it will be "he had it easy".

The guys behind me on Wednesday were almost creaming themselves at the thought of him fucking up again. When they did get mouthy and start slagging him off anyway, they were told in no uncertain terms to STFU.

He kept a clean sheet and had a massive part in the winning goal. Why not just be happy for him and us?

He was very good with his feet on Wednesday, probably the best I’ve seen him play as a Sweeper Keeper. I know that isn’t the main role of a keeper, but it’s a requirement these days and I was impressed with that element.

Great to see him join in the celebrations when we scored too. Hopefully shows he’s mentally in a good place, feels part of the team and wasn’t “scared” of being near the fans.

We all know he’s a weak keeper, but if he has a storming finish it helps us make play offs and also makes him more attractive when we sell him in the summer.

Not flapping - frustrated that it IS the hand we have been dealt.
Absolutely we are huffing and puffing - BUT could have been a bit more comfortable had Collins not been in goal on Saturday!
I WOULD fancy us to get top six, but just deflated that we have to try to protect a poor goalkeeper.
Are there other options? - yes.
Are they better? ... we just don't know.

Well yeah but if you don’t go wild at a last minute winner, you’re in the wrong sport

It's better to just accept it tbh.
I think Collins is better than Wilson, at least for how we play. Neither are very good goalkeepers but Collins is far far better with his feet which is important to how we play and also played a part in our winner. Wilson would have booted that completely aimlessly to no one in particular.

I have said I'm happy for him, us, his family etc.

But from a basic goalkeeping point of view - a lot of us here could have been in goal and not conceded. One very basic shot on target to save.
It's not that he has turned his form around.
He absolutely did have it easy.

That kind of chance restriction is not going to happen in many more games.

Fine with his feet - agree.

He'll cost us points before the end of the season.

Do I want that for him/is/his teammates - absolutely not. Just really frustrating that we are in this situation from a goalkeeping point of view.
