Decent save froma header at Reading

Wasn’t at that game either (convenient), just watched highlights. Would say your description is good, it’s a decent enough stop but still would possibly say if he let it in, it’s really poor keeping. Maybe I’m being too strict on what I consider a good shot stopper to be and it’s just saving what is required. But even with Burge, (who I really didn’t rate) I’d say he’d make the odd really good stop, I don’t think that about Wilson

Wilson made a brilliant last-gasp save to help us win a game - think it was Watford but could be wrong.

Burge I always thought was confidence. When he had that good start to the season he looked on it, and he'd always shown signs he could be a decent keeper. As soon as he made a mistake you could see all his faith in himself drain away and he went to pieces.

Maybe that's a Wilson strength, that the mistakes don't seem to affect him mentally as much(!)

Top blagger. How he's playing Championship football is a mystery. There will be much better keepers lower down looking at him and thinking how did that fucker blag that gig.

A bit like we have done with Burroughs… he’s got the shirt cause Dabo, Eccles, Kane have been either injured or just not upto standard. Is it time to give one of the younger lads a chance?
Only Robins and the GK coach will know the answer to that question seeing them in training and how they perform.
Id be more than happy to see Moore given another go but I’m completely over Wilson so it’s either
A) bring in a keeper in Jan
B) Give more a shot again
C) try one of the younger lads

I know it's not linear, and goalkeeper develops later in many cases, but Billson is 22. Not sure he counts as 'young' in football terms any more, and for him to be a distant third to Wilson and Moore doesn't suggest huge promise for the future.

The injury he picked up when out on loan with Scunthorpe really has derailed him sadly. That loan move could have been the making of him.
Would expect he'll be gone in the summer unfortunately.

Yeah from an outsider looking in, he went from being first choice in a league 2 team at 20 years old, to missing a whole season of development and now bombing at Kidderminster in the conference North. Just shows how injuries at an early age can potentially destroy a career

I couldn’t disagree with this statement more if I tried. He had a shocking few games and was rightfully dropped earlier in the season but to equate them is so wrong. Look at their careers. Look at the fact Moore can kick a football. Look at the fact Moore can step off his line and can catch a ball. Robins is going through one of his stubborn phases with Moore and it’s costing us.

I'm not sure it's really costing us. How many fewer goals would we have conceded? Before yesterday we had one of the best defensive records in the league and Wilson has most clean sheets. Just trying to judge how much better a new goalkeeper (be it Moore or someone else) would make us. Feels more chance you could make things worse than better.

Thing is we've got to within touching distance of the playoffs in spite of Wilson (and Moore).

We 100% need a new keeper in the summer but it's just not going to be a priority in Jan when we have far more pressing issues.

We've shown we can win games with Wilson in goal, but we're going to struggle to win games without enough fit CBs, a replacement for O'Hare and a backup to Gyokeres etc regardless of who's in goal so that's where the priorities have to be.

To be honest the best keeper I’ve seen play against us this season has been the Sunderland one, Patterson. And he’s looked pretty strong all the other games of theirs I’ve seen too.

I can't disagree with any of the negative comments about Wilson, but I can't get Moores early season performances out of my mind, Burgesque.

They were terrible. But now we’ve shipped 7 in 4 games perhaps he’s entitled to be given his place back.

What goals yesterday do people blame Wilson for ?
1st any other time Allen would have got a touch and diverted the ball.He (Wilson) could not be blamed for that goal.
2nd he could not come for that too many bodies in the way(offside?)
3 rd Hamers fault

Could come for the second. They hit the bar when he was completely rooted to the spot. He didn’t make a single save and his kicking was tragic. Apart from that he was fine

He seems to instill fear too, he's jittery, edgy, it rubs off on me watching! And without McFadzean in the defence, there's nobody *there* to calm it down, so we just appear edgy whenever the ball comes close to the keeper. That must make us more susceptable to the high press too, something that Sheffield Utd did well on occasion, as you always feel a mistake's imminent and you'll get the ball back from us.

1) He didn't come off his line quick enough for the first.
2) The second it was his poor pass to Panzo that put him trouble that immediately led to the foul and the freekick. And then he probably could have come for the cross.
3) not his fault.

One thing Moore is undoubtedly better at is distribution. Up until July 31 he was also excellent at dealing with balls into the box.

We need him back and in form.

Wilson reminds me a lot of Burge. Good shot stopper, but the rest of his game is severely lacking. Doesn't know when to come or go, distributuion is very poor and overall cant command his box which leads to way too many miscommunications.
Not sure whether putting Moore back in for the Cardiff game would be a good idea though because one bad decision or one mistake and I reckon his confidence is completely shot and we're stuck with Wilson for the whole season. Put Moore in against Wrexham and if he has a good game, start him the next game in the league.

Thing is it’s how he affects the whole way we set up. We have to defend like crazy and can’t counter quickly when the GK gets the ball, also we get out under a lot more pressure from GKs and clearances. Clean sheets is really a team stat, we limit the opposition to few quality chances by sacrificing numbers further up the field and playing deeper.

I thought he could have come out for the second too? Was difficult to see at the time but the header seemed quite close to the goal.

1st He had 2 players bearing down on him Mac Atee and Ahmedhodzic if he went earlier Mac Atee would have left Ahmededhodzic with a tap in by going later he had to work for his goal which was a great goal in the end.Sheaf had 2 chances to put a challenge in and missed both
2nd He did make a bad pass out but the said Panzo gifted Clark with a free header by bad marking
3rd We agree on that. Hamers fault.

That's a big old IF you've got there. Possibly Kane and Allen in league 1 on frees. The rest .... even Shrewsbury would run a mile.
