Whats wrong with Egg Chasing going to The Butts myself next season with 2 other regulars from the hill.

Oh Shitfields will have no atmosphere whatsoever now we will be gone.(No Horns,Drums or whistles)

They have finally got what they wanted piece and quite it will be like going to church, listening to Fishers Sermons at half time with adoration in their eyes.

Fuck me could become another sectarian cult.

57 pages scanned to see if there has been any developments regarding this story and all we have since the beginning of the thread is that Michael who put out the offer has refused to take a simple phone call to set up a meeting and has therefore given ML another guy's number to set up a meeting for him and we are still waiting for that phone call.

Just ridiculous.

If they do well could turn the City into a Rugby supporting town all thanks to our illustrious owners

Fair play to you both. I don't mind a bit of egg chucking but I prefer a round ball so rugby town it is for now.

It sounds like I'll have company too next season as my youngest wants to give it a try. I'd always envisaged her first game would be at the Ricoh, cheers SISU.

Yep, still no news on whether ML has called the contact he's been provided with. Perhaps it's all happening behind the scenes in private and and we'll be hearing more next week after the JR result.

Was asked last night why we don't play at the Butts if Ricoh wasn't available. Am I right in thinking it's not league standard?

It isn't.

Plus the freehold is... council owned.

Although the deal they obtained may be relevant to us

Green was spectacular in his efforts, managed about a dozen companies he'd made bankrupt... and couldn't even wind up the Rugby Club properly!

How things could get sorted out so easily, this is just the remedy we want, if we also get the F&B's from matchdays. Then the club could then take it from there longer term

It proves it more a clash of ego's that fecked us up, if the council worked with the rugby club they should have worked a similar deal with us, but Fisher and that council bloke got personal

That's your view.
But at least Rugby players do not dive, act spoilt, show controlled aggression, play with pride, act like Gentlemen and England have won the World Cup recently and been in two of the last three finals. They can win the World Cup again next year.
I love Coventry City but I have a great deal of respect for Rugby.

But I hate those who bang on about Rugby being a gentlemen's sport...no it isn't. Spear tackles, eye gouging, stamping. What a load of bollocks. No offence mate...I don't disagree that Rugby crowds are better behaved that football fans, spot on, but Rugby fans banging on about players behaving better than footballs....utter garbage. The don't roll about, but the 'controlled aggression' you talk about is as controlled as Luis Suarez sometimes.

Respectfully,

WM

I think this line in that story could be the key to it:
His charity, Perpetual Legacy, has now provided £1 million and enabled the stadium lease to be bought back by the club.

They bought the stadium lease. They didn't demand the stadium as a ransom.

As far as I was aware, SISU have always said they wanted to buy it...

Notwithstanding that, they bought it on the understanding it would be reassigned on a 125 year term...

I agree that Rugby us not perfect but if a player does not get picked up on anything during the game then he can be penalised afterwards. I think the sin bin works very well and the players accept the referees decision without complaint. Most referees are ex players.
They are very different sports and after being in involved in both over the years I can see many things wrong with Football ( managed and coached) but as a Rugby player ( and referee) the negatives are limited.
Also I think the Rugby Union has got itself organised and is much more professional than the FA or the Football League, they look after there clubs and know how important supporters are from the top down to local clubs.

Anyway, good to have a decent conversation about different views and takee our thoughts off the demise of our club
