Hope it isn't anything related and is possibly another wind up.

Hope she hasn't done it because of the Kate incident.

Huge coincidence if it's not connected.

EDIT: Although, if it is connected there's no way it would be just that that caused her to (apparently) take her own life. Maybe just the straw that broke the camels back.

Yep exactly.

Could she be getting sacked or something for it?

I know she would have broken the rules by giving out the information but would it be sackable?

Could those DJ's be done for manslaughter?

The hospital are saying she wasn't disciplined in any way over the incident. As for the DJ's, I hope not. I can't think the nurse committed suicide over this alone, as someone else has said, maybe this was the last straw. They will be feeling rotten over this but I don't think they should stand trial for it.

I can't see anyway that this would not be related - its just too much of a coincidence.

Whatever the circumstances it's absolutely tragic, RIP.

Typical ,people looking for a laugh at others expense. Perhaps people should think of the consequences of their hilarious actions.

I don't think anyone could've foreseen this macca. I wouldn't blame the DJ's even - it was cheeky what they did, nothing more. If it had got to the point where she was thinking about taking her own life, anything could've have set her on her way. I wouldn't have thought she'd have a clean bill of health 2 days ago and then get to the point where she's taking her own life over this in the space of 2 days.

That is, of course, if she did commit suicide. It's only initial reports so far.

It does sound a little bit dodgy. Will wait to see if it was suicide.

Don't get me wrong, most dj's are pretty crap. But I don't think what they did deserves people blaming them for what happened. They're bound to feel horrendous, who wouldn't.

They haven't shown any remorse yet. Their radio station still has the "conversation" on their website. Tossers!

RIP to the nurse involved

Forget they are royals. Is it acceptable to make hoax calls to hospitals to get confidential patient info? I mean I could spend all day tomorrow doing the same to walsgrave

Would they have done it knowing the woman would be found dead a couple of days later?

I think people phone up places to get confidential info everyday. Hope they do show remorse, it would be unforgivable if they didn't.

I'm not being cold. I think its awful. But if its suicide I think there must have been a lot going on with that girl and those dj's weren't to know that. Like I said though, I hope they do show remorse.

I'm with you it's utterly shocking.

It is very possible this was the sole contributor to it. Think about it. Someone who has never had any media attention all of a sudden ridiculed in all the press and media for bring duped. It must be hard to take.

The DJ's had a laugh and the press and other media have mocked her. Also the continual nonsense about putting royals on a pedastal should be looked at as well. The way the non story has been covered is revolting.

I agree it was probably not solely due to that but who knows what would have happened had they not done it. We ll never know now

I'm sure in the coming days and weeks her whole private life will be available on-line. Which is also a shame.

I hope the DJ's are ashamed, along with their employers.

Also the Press have their part to play! Countless times I heard the phone call played on news programmes! As if the poor woman hadnt suffered enough and probably would have lost her job through it, or atleast faced severe disciplinary action for breaking the DPA!

Hearing that over and over was bound to cause her to feel under alot of pressure!

Pair taken off the air.

Details from courtesy of Radio today.http://radiotoday.co.uk/2012/12/radio-prank-call-ends-in-death-of-nurse/

The thing is that phone pranks/windup calls is still going on to this day. You got Steve Penk who if you remember had Jon Culshaw phoning up then Prime Minister Tony Blair pretending to be William Hague. At the moment you got Elvis Duran from Z(zee) 100 doing it (they call it the 'Phone Tap).

Then there's a French Canadian jock that played a phone prank on the queen.

In this situation it backed fire.

The question is should radio stations stop all this phone wind up altogether or just think before doing it.

I mean here we have a phone prank call from a host from Norway phoning a London hotel.

http://danoday.com/blog/2012/11/radio-morning-show-bit-2/

Now this one(not the royal one) I would describe as harmless, but I'll let you decide.

I ask the question, would it be appropriate to phone up your local hospital posing as relatives of a patient for a giggle? Wasting people's time and being a twat?

I would guess this is very much related and probably not even the straw that broke the camel's back!

Our beloved British tabloid press I would guess had been probably hounding her to death since the incident. Quite literally in all possibility.

Wouldn't be surprised if they have been encamped outside her house and following her every move.

Good job we are fully taking onboard the Leveson recommendations isn't it.

Poor woman ,must have felt an epic sense of humiliation or that she'd acted in some dishonourable way, poor husband and two kids ,absolute tragedy.

Yep indeed.

Humiliating enough with the media constantly playing the tape, but the sleazeoids will no doubt have been badgering her too.

I read that she wasn't even the one who gave out the information, just took the call and transferred it to the nurse who did give out the information. Poor lady.

I would say a big 'No' as I would class it as being insensitive. In my opinion it's almost on the level as a journalist posing as a doctor to get confidential information about the patient to get to newspaper.

It's a shame she topped herself, but it's no-ones fault.
No one is to blame, but that won't stop the press, forums and Twitter bullies trying to pin it on the dj or station.
Sad tale all round really.

Yes that is definately a factor. The media on average donated 9 pages on day one of a non story.

I heard on the radio that is how much the big 4 did. Only the independent gave a relatively sane coverage -- hardly any.

I think foreigners wasting people's time in a UK hospital to be newsworthy
