I'd rather he got a full season playing 40+ games at a decent level, high end league 1 would be fair, we use Allen while he's still good enough for a year and then we bring Andrews in to Allen's minutes next year.

He's still only 18, we don't need to flood him with a full season of games.

I'd be happy flogging Allen and using his minutes to slowly bring Andrews on and get him acclimated to Championship football.

Surely Kai Andrews would learn more from Frank Lampard coaching then some lower League team. Just look how Jack Rudoni as improved under Lampard.

Most loan players go to a team with inferior coaches and players to their parent club.
It's about getting minutes on the pitch in professional football.

If Lampard likes him enough to give him 15 games worth of minutes across a season, its better for him to stay here.

And that will be the crux of it .
I doubt he'll keep him here to warm the bench and come on for a few minutes here and there at the end of games.

That young lad at Sunderland played loads of games last season in midfield, worked out alright for them!

Listen to her? With her mouth I have no choice

Had a right day. She was moaning about the state of the pool. Leaves and insects all over the bottom. Insects floating on the top. We've just had a few days of rain after ages of not having a drop. Got used to not putting pump cover on. Looks like pump is knackered.

Offered an escape route. Youngest daughters boyfriend wanted to do a surprise visit. His mother has been seriously ill in hospital. On the way back I nearly ran over a motorcyclist. There's a valley to a big river with 180° hairpin bends. Was taking one to the left when he suddenly appeared. Both bike and rider went into trees. Whilst giving first aid my memory let me down. Wanted to ask him if he could move his toes.....all I could remember they are foot fingers but my mind went blank. But the bonus was 3 very fit cyclists stopped to help

Now back at home getting another nagging off my wife

Only just missed him. He tried to take a hairpin bend too fast. As I was turning to.the left it meant both bike and rider then went onto my side of the road. Without ABS I wouldn't have had a chance of slowing down in time. By the time I had stopped I watched him hit the trees. Certainly the closest I have ever come to having an accident in over 40 years of having a driving licence although I've had a few close calls over the years.

Good solid debut..expected nothing less. Against decent opposition playing slightly out of position.

Kids 19. What a talent. Has it all in my opinion. Good physicality, pace , strength, very comfortable on the ball and good passing ability.

Lad has a very big future. He can learn it all here not going out on loan. Under Lampard.

Looked decent last night, although raw (understandably so).

I'd keep him around as a bit part player and move Allen on.

I think the plan was to loan him.
And I think there may have been a suggestion that that may change and he stays.
But having seen him last night, I think he needs a loan.

he was ok last night , but that was all
i know he is young but physically strong, but needs to get his head up a lot more and appreciate what is around him, as it caused him to give away possession too often in simple situations

Would agree. There's a very good player there but he needs to work on decision making. Our fans would turn on him and write him off after a couple of poor performances.

Let’s not forget that last night he was playing out of position. It will be good to see him play in his preferred number 8 role.

He won’t get a game which is why we may as well loan him to get game time

Thought he did ok against sketchy opposition. Obviously wanted to impress and just held on to it a bit too long at times. He was out of position though and he certainly didn’t do himself any harm.

This is probably the best next step for him. With Eccles to come back, he’s going to be 5th choice and game time will be difficult to come by.

He’s showed promise and he certainly should hold his head high. Had some solid touches but others were slightly naive… would you back him to play LW if EMC gets injured for a prolonged period? Probably not.

It’s the same with Rapha, promising performance that deserved MOTM. The question remains, would you back that player to perform at a high level for weeks/months if required? I’m sceptical whether he can make that step up this season.

Thought he was excellent and showed he could probably cut a season at L1 level this year and possibly has a route to the first team. And he’s the first youth player I’ve thought that about for ages.

Why are we sending players to Ryan Lowe? Plays horrible football that's nothing like us stylistically. And he's a bellend

Rapha seems to be doing quite well there to be fair. Whilst he’s not setting the world alight, the Wigan fans seem to think he’s improved a lot and becoming an important first team player.

All about experience and learning. He may be what, 21-22 but he shouldn't be judged as one, based on his football background.

Mcfadz always said the same. At the time he was 35 he said he felt more like 29-30 as he came into the pro game later than most players.

Anyways, Rapha and started and pretty much played full 90 the last two months.

As for Andrews, a league 1 loan is excellent. He's only 18 isnt he?

Kai Andrews is 19, but that is neither here nor there. I think it is worth him to stay training under FL and get occasional minutes this year. It will be good for him to be around our push for promotion.

If we do get promoted, I think next year is the time to loan him out and get regular match time.

He’s also not coming back into our first team squad realistically. The hope for Andrews is that he does.

When did I say Raphael was? But I agree Kai Andrews has a future with us if managed properly.

I didn’t mean to imply that you said he was. I was merely trying to say that Raphael is trying to save a career in professional football. I hope he succeeds (as a winger, wing back or a striker) but I can’t see it being with us.
