Matondo, born in Liverpool, no Welsh parents but lived in Wales for a bit...... love International selection criteria..... although sure England have exploited it the years.

He moved to Cardiff when very, very young and then grew up there until he moved to Man city at 16 so why shouldn't he feel Welsh and be able to play for them?

If Lampard thinks he’ll get minutes off the bench then sure

Yeah, I’m all for loans if players aren’t in the mix at all but if he’s getting even a few mins here and there and training under one of the best midfielders of his generation, I’d be tempted to keep him around

I'd imagine he'll be loaned out again. He needs a full season somewhere so he can feature week in week out.

I'd keep him and sell allen.

He has the physicality to cope in our league.

I'd rather he got a full season playing 40+ games at a decent level, high end league 1 would be fair, we use Allen while he's still good enough for a year and then we bring Andrews in to Allen's minutes next year.

In his interview in the Telegraph, talking about his time at Motherwell, he said something along the lines of 'I was really pleased with how it went for a first loan'
WhichI took to mean he'd be out on one again this season.
But I've a feeling maybe Lampard might keep him around

Have we not said this for the past 2 seasons and been proven wrong every time we've had to rely on him?

If he’s going to feature a non-trivial amount of times this season then he can benefit from training every day with a higher calibre of teammate and coaches. Personally I’m quite excited to see what he’s capable of.

It's a no brainer for me. He was man of the tournament. Corinthians are a good side and they couldn't cope with him. It was their mens side as well. That strike from 30 yards plus shows what he is capable of. The keeper got nowhere near it. Showed he is very alert when he blocked the only shot that went past our keeper.

Keep him in the squad. He doesn't take up one of the 24 places. It would be a great experience for him. Let him train with Lampard and the 1st team. Maybe give him time in the cup games.

He did brilliantly to be both in Singapore and Sussex in the same weekend! It is Kai Yearn who scored the goal in Singapore.

Kai ne Keler-Hayden
Kai Andrews
Kai Yearn

Must be a record. Less Jordan's and Josh's now. Barry's and John's are no more.

Although it won't go down too well, we also have to be grateful to Bellamy for upgrading Kai to the first team with the national team.

Just starting the last year of his contract (unless we have an option of a further year). With his current ability, potential and age allowing him to register as an under 21, he's got to be worth a new contract now?

Thought Kai looked really promising against Bristol Rovers. The main thing that caught my eye is his passing. I don't remember him misplacing a pass the entire game, with every pass having a good weight to it and most importantly they were accurate. No passes behind a player or miles in front like we saw a fair bit of last season from Sheaf, Allen and Eccles.

Now that obviously doesn't mean he's going to step up to the championship and be a world beater for us, but he seems like he'll be there and about ability wise already which is promising. I'd definitely keep him around this year and give him a chance.

He'll be loaned out. The reason he's been getting these minutes so far is to assess exectly what level we want to loan him out to.

Surely Kai Andrews would learn more from Frank Lampard coaching then some lower League team. Just look how Jack Rudoni as improved under Lampard.

I know that Andrews' agent has said he's sticking around for now as Frank has been impressed with him through pre-season.

As others have suggested, you'd hope the likes of Andrews, Batanwi and Yearn would get game time against Luton in the cup.

Fundamentally young players improve by getting consistent game time.

He isn't likely to get that here given who we have in midfield currently.
