Go to an event with a machete, use it on somebody and get 2 and a half years. Will be out in just over a year.

What sort of shit is that to stop knife crime? They should be getting longer than that just for having a machete on them.

It's an absolute disgrace. There should be a minimum sentence simply for carrying a knife such as 5 years. If you stab someone why should you get any less than 10 ?
This sentence will actually encourage people who are hell bent on revenge or to settle a score if they know they'll only be getting 12 months.
