(I know this is probably going to get the wrong sort of replies and go off on a tangent, but)

If the further we fall if that make any new stadium the less likely?

Let's say we are relegated this season and then next season we struggle in League 2. You would think that crowds would be 5,000 or below at best. Surely the further we fall and the more fans drift away, the more pointless any consideration of a new stadium becomes doesn't it?

If we fall and fall we might just as well groundshare with someone somewhere mightn't we? Surely a multi million pound out of town stadium would be even more likely to be a big white elephant.

Would make more sense to put it on a back burner and groundshare until we have a bit of success and crowds return (IF they return).

Makes it more likely, as you need a smaller portion of land, and less cost to build it.

Mate they won't build a new stadium and have never had the intention too

If it makes good business sense for the club then there's no harm in moving the club to a different city. We could even give free tickets to the locals to make sure there are a decent number of fans in the ground.

But that in turn also makes it less likely for Sisu to sell the club on and make a return on their investment.

We tried that before and it never really caught on, did it?

Yep.

And the smaller the plot of land the less opportunity to expand if and when the club has success.

If we were to build a 5,000 seater stadium on a small plot and then had success and moved up the leagues, there would be no way we could increase capacity to 15,000 plus.

And then surely we would have to come crawling back to wasps with our tails inbetween our legs begging for a groundshare, or set out to build yet another stadium!

I think this is SISU's cunning plan. They're going to take us down the leagues far enough to decimate our fan base until it gets to a point where they can afford to build a stadium suitable to our needs. The chumps that are left following the clubs will then hail them as heroes for building us the best stadium in non league. It's going to be awesome, Rugby Town will be well jel

Hahaha oh dear. I dread to think what you think of those who are actually serious when they come out with that sort of rubbish about sports teams.

I have been unable to give my wife's season ticket away for matches she can't make.
Perhaps I need to ask Brum and Villa fans instead of friends and family.

I've never believed there would ever be a new stadium. But putting that aside, yes it would make it much less likely. A loan will be harder to get. Investors will be less interested. There will be less money available and less potential for profit. We could even get in a situation where we can no longer afford to ground-share at the Ricoh.
