Disagree... Hackney is no better than Rudoni. If anything, fully fit and in full form, id much rather have Rudoni than Hackney. Rudoni has been injured for large parts of this season, played much less minutes than Hackney, been hugely out of form and playing with a dislocated shoulder problem, yet is equal on goals and only has 1 less assist.

Which is obviously bollocks, because they lack a proper striker.

You can't have the best squad without that.

They've arguably got the best midfield, but they've not got the most balanced squad.
Their midfield isn't better than one containing Grimes, Onyeka and Rudoni.

We have better strength off the bench in Torp and Eccles.

Rudoni vs Hackney is like doing the Lampard vs Gerrard argument. Both top quality but in different ways

Rudi was the best midfielder last season but hasn't consistently hit the heights this year. So it's fair to say Hackney is the best midfielder in the league

Best squad! No chance they probably have the best midfield about it though!

This aged well, didn’t it? Deluded Smoggies and their ‘best team in the League’ bs Nothing more than tippy tippy possession footy, lots of games over 70%, but crucially can’t score goals from it!
Coventrys days are numbered in this League, cos we won’t be here next season!!

A bit like my Wright vs Gyokeres comparisons I think any player would score more in our team than any other in this league. TBH when I’ve seen Hackney I’ve not been blown away but I’ve not watched him a lot and he’s generally seen as the best in the division. I’d like to see us go for someone with a bit more physicality if we go up tho.

He's obviously a good player and i've always said football is way more than charts and graphs, more so than any other sport, although they give a good gauge of course. He is wanked over so much that it's slightly annoying though, bored of hearing about him. You'd think the team creaming the league didn't have any good players the way some go on. Fact is, we have a lot of them.

i wouldnt swap our GK, our defence, our midfield or our strikers for Boros, but if that means we have to settle for being 2nd best and winning the league, I'll take it...

There's absolutely no way their midfield is better than ours - Grimes, Onyeka, Rudoni, Torp, Eccles, Sakamoto, EMC...literally all of those would start in Boros midfield (obvs not all at the same time).

Hackney is good but he's not prime Xavi FFS. And by prime Xavi, I'm obviously referring to Ben Sheaf away at Wolves in the Cup QF.

He is good to be fair but I'd take every single one of our players over him.

I mean they haven't anyway, they haven't got a striker better than even our second choice.

He actually was right to be fair.

Numbered?

Number 1 for goals scored
Number 1 for points accumulated
Number 1 for most wins
Number 1 for least losses ...

I wouldn't turn my nose up at Hackney but I would also say that Grimes, Onyeka, Rudi is the best midfield in the league.

The ‘top’ teams?..when I look at the League table, only 1 team has been at the top since September apart from 6 days………….

Have to say though, Onyeka's positional sense, tackling and stamina were exactly what our midfield was missing, and it makes a huge difference having him in there when teams try and hit on the counter. Bloke is top flight quality and it's been apparent from his debut.

It's brilliantly poetic how they caught up with us after our inconsistent patch, we beat them soundly, put them back in their box and have won 5 in a row after that as well.

They might know how to pass it square and backwards but they don't know how to score. Brilliant stuff.

Simply comparing goals and assists is not a way to judge a player, there's for more to it than that. I find it infuriating, especially when players play in different positions and have different responsibilities on the pitch. Comparing Rudi and O'Hare's output for instance would make more sense as both play behind the striker, but even then it still depends to some extent on the wider team.

I'm not saying that means you're wrong and that Rudi is not better than Hackney, but I'd expect Rudi to be scoring and assisting more given he plays further forwards in a team which on the whole gets the ball into the box a lot more.

It's a team game after all and as long as the team are scoring and winning, frankly I don't care if we have the best individual players or not, as long as we have the best overall combined 11 (or squad).

Hackney is the best player in the league and is probably pulled down by what's around him at boro, but we have the best midfield in the league and it's not close.

Proper 3 horse race for second, that'll be a fun watch for the neutral. Hope its Millwall, really hope its not Ipswich.

But also because it's usually 2 parachute teams and one 'lucky' 3rd.

That's 3 brand new parachute teams which a) increases our chances of survival next season and b) shakes things up
